I only got this game because it was incredibly discounted at a place that was closing down. There are five games in all and each game features one of the following fairies: Tink, Iridessa, Rosetta, Silvermist, and Fawn. You earn points in each of the five games and these are stored in the device until transferred to your child's fairy online [...] . Each time you transfer points you can only do so for a single fairy. The points in the device cannot be divided amongst any other fairies in your account. To give points to any other of your child's fairies you would have to earn more points and then transfer those to the chosen fairy. The points are used to get a butterfly for your child's fairy. There are several butterflies to choose from and each costs from 500 to 25000 points. The butterfly will fly alongside your child's fairy for one to seven days (depending on the butterfly chosen). The butterfly is the ONLY reward your child gets for their fairy. The games are simple, with terrible graphics, and most are not easy to play. All are too difficult for my four-year-old daughter, but she does love seeing the butterfly fly with her fairy so I must play this thing to earn enough points to keep getting her a butterfly. So...basically you pay for a virtual butterfly that flies with your child's fairy for a limited time. Had I paid full price it wouldn't have been worth it.

Cute little LCD hand-held game which you use to earn points in order to get a butterfly to tag along as you play the online game Pixie Hollow.
The games are fairly easy to play, except the controls are not that easy to use - especially on game #1 (there are 5 games.) Game 5 is the easiest and funnest... you are flying a butterfly (that looks somewhat like a B&W version of the butterflies you can choose from in the Pixie Hollow on-line game.) You earn points on this hand-held game to use in the clickables program for the Pixie Hollow game to have a butterfly for a day, 3 days, 5 days or a week at a time (it takes 25,000 points for the week-long butterfly, AND you get a cool badge as well when you get a certain amount of points!) Fun interactive, and for those who are Pixie Hollow players, it is a nice add-on, but could have been made a bit better, had easier to use controls, and a pause as well. You can transfer points to other Clickables devices, so if you have a friend that has the friendship bracelet or the jewelry box, you can transfer the points to either of those devices and give them points (or keep one of those plugged in that is registered to yourself/ your family and use it that way.) The on-line game is free to a point, and after that it is about $30 for a six-month subscription, although you can play it for free to see if you like it. I'd recommend playing it for free to see if it is something you and/or your daughter/granddaughter(s) likes before buying the Clickables game and other items! If you play the [...] game (which this hand-held game is integrated with) and like it, you'll want to get the rest of the charms (this item comes with one of them), the jewelry box (comes with three) and the others (there are 9 sets - some are just charms, the more expensive ones are charms with a chain bracelet), AND at least one (Or more if your friends play too so you can get even more badges and these make great party favors) "friendship bracelet" that you can swap points, Clickables charms for the fairies on your account, and you can choose chat phrases to use and are supposed to be able to get additional badges for using those phrases as well. The online game changes with seasons, is fairly new, and with that comes some glitches here and there, but it is all-in-all a pretty fun game and is very entertaining. The ONLY way to get the butterfly on-line is to play the hand-held game! There is NO other way, and you cannot use a used game (I know, I received a used one that looked like it was new, and had to get another!) Be sure you ONLY buy this game new! There is no pause, AND once the game is registered to your account on the web site (and it has to be to use it), you cannot sell it to someone else, as it stays registered to whatever account it is registered under! These two factors definitely made my

I rarely share negative reviews. This however, is a great idea poorly executed. At least that is my opinion.
We bought this on sale, deeply discounted. My daughter spent her own money on this toy. She played with it once or twice and doesn't play with it at all now. When I ask her why she says it is too hard, too hard to play because it is too hard to see the screen. As other reviewers have mentioned, the graphics are not too good. This is too bad. Also, the only reason you buy this is to give your fairy a butterfly on the website. Again, this is a good idea but it could be better executed.

Order was received on time as promised. Being a first time buyer on amazon.com I would like to say that I was scepticle at first , but after the transaction was completed it boosted my online shopping confidence level. I wont hesitate to buy from amazon or this seller in the future. My 8yr.old daughter Enjoys the game quite a bit , especially since by earning points on this game gets you a butterfly to use on Pixiehollow.com `s website. I think everyone on her online friends list on the site asked her " wow, where did you get the butterfly?" Perhaps that alone is worth the price of this product.Again, Thanx again to the seller and amazon.com. Was a satisfying experience all around.

This game is impossible to play because you cannot even see what's going on. It also freezes or cuts off completely whenever it feels like it. I want my $2 back.

This is a little hard to figure out. We haven't been able to get the game online yet. My daughter does like it because it's Tinkerbell though.

The case is large, yet flimsy. The screen is very low quality. And the buttons used for playing the games are not individual buttons, but a "hat" style button that is very prone to mis-clicking. In addition, the instructions to set up the online component are out of date, misleading, or completely incorrect. And, buying this game doesn't give access to any of the cool online things. Disney wants a monthly subscription for that.
Completely not worth even the small amount charged for it. |
