This toy is only $16.99 from Target, please don't buy it from Amazon for $30!

I bought this at Target for $16.99 as a Christmas gift for one of my daughters. Three months have passed and that's when tinkerbell/ballerina stopped spinning. The music would still play but that was all. I was able to fix it. Here's what you need to do....First open it with the key and remove the 6 screws on the inside using a small jewelry tool (or try a small phillips head). Slide the white plastic circle out the same direction the screws came out. Inside, just loosen the 3 screws a little bit (the screws that hold the motor in place, the gold plastic to the white plastic) - not too loose. Then it should start spinning when the music comes on. If it doesn't then loosen the screws a little more. Place the white plastic back on and then the 6 screws.

My daughter received this for her 4th birthday - she was thrilled. However, after about an hour of playing with it, the little figure on the top stopped twirling around. So we packed it up, took it back and bought a new one. After an hour of playing with this one, the little figure on the top stopped twirling around. She's 4, so she still enjoys it, but it's a cheap toy.

See update! We returned the toy to the company and they sent us a newer version of the toy (Buy the "Lost Treasure" version!!). Six+ months later, no problems yet- my girls still LOVE the toy!

If it weren't for the spinning problem, we'd be really happy with the toy. My daughter was in heaven when she opened up the toy on her birthday- she even wanted to sleep with the key last night - so you can imagine how crestfallen she was when it stopped working. It's really too bad. As cute as the toy is, I don't know if its worth putting a child through the emotional rollercoaster of sheer bliss to utter disappointment.

I read these reviews before buying this toy. But, my daughter's name is Wendy and she said she wanted a music box like the one in the Tinkerbell movie before we ever saw the toy. Then we ran across the toy in Target for around 16 bucks and she put it on her Christmas list as her number 1 most wanted item. I figured since the price wasn't bad, I'd deal with it. She loves this thing, especially getting to wear the key and re-enact the scene from the movie. At first I thought she'd be disappointed that the key didn't actually wind up the box and only unlocks it. But she was not phased by this.

Unfortunately the thing broke on Christmas day. The music played, but the ballerina would not turn. I took the box apart and no wonder it broke. Everything is made of cheap plastic except for the screws and wiring. The plastic gears had fallen out of position. It took me awhile, but I got it working again. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I will say that my 5 year old daughter absolutely adores this thing. She now says that it is "delicate" and carries it carefully like it is made of glass.

Cute toy but like all of the other reviewers, the ballerina/tinkerbell stopped working within 5 minutes of my daughter opening it. It just sits there now and wont spin.

We opened this on Christmas morning and the ballerina/Tinkerbell didn't spin at all, although I can hear the gears grinding away. My daughter is so into Tinkerbell that she's okay with not spinning as long as it still plays music (we did have to replace the supplied batteries after about 10 minutes). It only gets 3 stars because my daughter loves Tink so much.

I bought this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and she has a great time with it. We haven't had any problems with it not spinning and it has been dropped a few times on the carpet and still works great. She loves to lock and unlock it with the key. I'm very pleased with this box.

We bought two of these for our daughters. The girls loved them. However, after less than an hour, they stopped spinning.
I tried to go to website to investigate the problem. The website is under construction. This toy is a cheap piece of junk.
Don't buy this toy.
