So, my 1 year old doesn't love wearing a life jacket. And the Little Nemo theme is lost on her and so is no motivation to wear it. But, the thing does work! I really like the feature that causes the child to tip back not forward so ensures they float face up if they tip at all. We didn't have her swim on her own per se, always held her but did test it enough to know she tipped backward when we let go. In one instance she tipped back and proceeded to fall asleep while floating on her back. She took a 30 minute nap in this life jacket, in the pool, it was adorable! We did use another life jacket for infants which had less bulk around the chin/neck and made me wish this one was more like that - but - that other one did not work near as well in helping the child to tip back instead of forward nor did it have as much 'floating power' though it did do the job...

It does it purpose of keeping child afloat and face up which is most important, but I constantly have to hold my son so he he stays up right and not on his back. Also the area around the chin is too high so my child has a hard time moving his head from side to side, he seems very crowded, I'm thinking maybe it's like that to keep the childs chin up so there face can't fall forward into the water, although i dont think that would be an issue with my child. Overall I'm satisfied with this product and would buy again, I've never seen or used a better product. I think all the flaws i've seen are there for safety reasons so i guess there not flaws.
