I bought this car for my son on December 8 2006, it stopped working today the 14th of April. Upon opening up the toy I was able to determine that the wires inside are snapping free which messes up the sound. After stripping and restripping these tiny wires and attempting to get them to stay in place w/o any wire glue and failing! I've decided to buy another one. It's a great sized toy for this amount of money, rolls really fast (which is probably what led to its demise), and says about 7 cute phrases from the movie. Since my son has abused this poor car(throwing down the stairs, slamming into walls at 30 mph and using it as a hammer) I'm not going to claim that it's poorly made. Since he will now have two, I'll make sure he uses the old one poorly and treats the new one with kid gloves and hopefully I won't be reporting back in a few months to say that one bit the dust also!

My son (and my daughter also) likes this toy a lot. It is not expensive, and even though it's plastic it is very durable, buy it if you need a lightning Mcqueen car for your kid to play and you don't wanna be worried about him destroying it very easily. I dont think there are many Lightning Mcqueen toys bigger than this (14¨)so i would say it was exactly what my kid needed. The only thing is that after some time and lot of smashes probably, the sounds stopped working, but it could be fixed.

I just gave this toy to my son today, he will be 3 in march. He has sensory problems and is very rough with all his toys and he's already put this car through everything you can think of. It's held up very nicely the only thing is the buttons stopped working and I don't know if that is because the batteries are worn out or what exactly. He won't let me near it to check, lol. I have a feeling he's going to take it to sleep at nap time with him, lol. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size of it, it's quite big. I hope this helps someone in deciding to buy it because it really is a great toy. (UPDATE: I'm a dork, lol! There is a on/off switch on the bottom that he turned off so it still does work, lol)

We bought this car for our three year old grand son and he just loves it. All the children at the party wanted to play with it. The graphics are great and so are the sound effects. It got us huge "grand parent points" for sure! Thanks for the great price and free shipping!

I bought this car for my then two year old son. He is now three and a half and he still loves this car. It is extremely durable!!! I thought it would be your typical plastic car that would break easily, but he crashed this car into every wall and off of every table he could find and not a chip or crack; until he recently through it into the air and let it crash onto our concrete driveway, repeatedly!! He left it outside and in the rain for probably a month and it still had all of the sounds when you pressed them. I love this car and I thought it was incredibly well built for a little boy. My only disappointment is that I can't find it in the stores anymore for the $16 I originally paid. Excellent toy!!

I sent this to my great Nephew for his third birthday. Having it arrive in the mail was exciting. But, when he opened it and saw that it was McQueen his eyes lite up and he had a big smile. He loved the lights and noises it made. A great gift!Lightning McQueen Lights and Sounds - Disney Cars

This car is the ONLY toy my 3-year old son requested for Christmas. My husband and I decided to get it since we knew it was the one thing he truly wanted. He was VERY happy with the car. This is the ONLY reason we did not send it back. The car is NOT worth $55. The overall quality was just poor. The stickers were peeling; it is not very durable and it just looks cheap. Save your money!

I bought this for my son and he loves it. It is super durable (my son is rough on things). My son became indifferent to the lights and sounds part rather quickly but as a big car toy he loves it and plays with it often. This is a must have for any little one who loves the movie Cars.

My son got this for Christmas when he was 2. At 4 years old, he still plays with it and takes it to bed with him. He's a rough little guy, but McQueen has stood up to all kinds of abuse over the years and is still running fine.
