Honestly, it's worth it for the first 6 songs alone.

I love PIXAR movies. They are always entertaining and the music is always a key part of the movies. This compilation is wonderful, including something from every movie, including the new film, UP! Randy Newman is stellar, Thomas Newman gives a classic feel, and Michael Giacchino is now my new favorite composer for his work on Ratatouille and Incredibles and Up! (not to mention his amazing score for Star Trek). The only issue i have is that "Beyond the Sea" by Robbie Williams (from Finding Nemo) was conspicuously left off the CD, while Cars has three pop songs (I could really do without Sheryl Crow's "Real Gone"). It may be possible there were licensing issues, as even that Robbie Williams song is only available on the full Nemo album download and not as an individual mp3. I guess they try to make up for it by including 3 score tracks from Nemo, while only one from Cars, but that's a stretch. All in all, a great compilation but the missing song drops a star for me.

Disney took some of the best songs from ten different Pixar films, including the newest addition Up [Theatrical Release]. My 3 1/2 year old was very familiar with all of the songs, but my personal favorite was Peter Gabriel's "Down to Earth" from Wall-E.

Even if you haven't seen all of the Pixar movies featured on this CD, you will appreciate the musical diversity: pop and country artists recorded the first nine tracks, but the rest are a variety of instrumental pieces -- I was surprised at how many my son recognized, calling out the names of the movies. (Some of the tracks seem very brief, but many are quite long.)

Another favorite of ours is Music Play Date. Both CDs are great for trips in the car, whether you'r going to the store or making a road trip.

This is an excellent CD of the best music from Pixar movies. I love the hit song "Real Gone" from Sheryl Crow. It really gets me going. I also love the new track "Carl Goes Up" by Michael Giacchino. It is very adventurous and grand sounding. Michael's other beautiful track is entitled "Wall Rat" from "Ratatouille". I also love Randy Newman's vocals on his contributions here. "You've Got A Friend in Me" and "The Time of Your Life" are great songs. I love the pretty French song "Le Festin" from Camille, and I enjoyed the heroic sounding In Credits from The Incredibles. I also love the jazzy sounding music from "Monsters" and upbeat track "Colette Shows Him the Le Ropes". I love all the tracks on this CD.

This is a truly nice collection. It was purchased to have some music for our grandchildren to listen to as they play, rather than TV or videos interfering.
Our grandson even recognizes which movie the instrumentals come from......

I must admit that I was familiar with only a few of these songs when I received this CD as a Christmas present from my husband. It did not take long for me to love every song on this CD and have played it over and over for weeks. There is such a variety of music that I don't seem to tire of it as I normally would. Great CD, even if you aren't a fan of the movies.

I'm surprised to see so many parents and grandparents who apparently bought this CD for their children to sing along to. Although it's understandable how they might not have realized, this isn't a sing-a-long kind of CD. It's primarily instrumental (the first 9 of the 25 are the only ones containing lyrics), and unless your child knows French, they aren't very well going to be able to sing along to Le Festin, so that's basically 8 tracks to potentially sing with.

Though it's not perfect, this is a beautiful, diverse collection, and I recommend it to adults (or children, if you know your child is capable of actively listening to instrumental) that appreciate Disney and Pixar scores. I, for one, delight in the ambiance created by they these pieces, which pull you might into the setting of the films in which they originated. It's nice to have an assortment of select tracks from all the Pixar films without necessarily having to purchase of the original soundtracks individually; they give you a taste for each film without overloading you.

My personal favorite tracks are Nemo Egg, Le Festin, and Field Trip.

For parents looking for a sing-a-long CD, I recommend Disney's Greatest 1 (which is about halfway composed of very upbeat, silly kind of songs that are very good for singing along with) and for adults looking for more, I personally find the various Original Soundtrack CDs to be utterly delightful; /Finding Nemo (An Original Soundtrack)/ being one of my personal favorites.

I am an absolute Pixar junkie. When I saw this CD, I had to buy it. I see some reviews with people complaining that there are mostly instrumental tunes on the album. What did you expect? That's what makes the album so great. There's always background music in movies that you don't necessarily notice until you hear it independently and it really strikes you, reminding you of a movie of which you were so fond. You know how sometimes you hear a song and it immediately makes you happy because it reminds you of a good memory or of something you really love? That's what this album does for me. Hearing these songs puts me in such a good mood because I love Pixar movies so much. I highly recommend this album for any die-hard Pixar fans out there like myself.
