I can't say enough about these toys! They are so nicely made and feel great in your hands. Small enough to carry around and big enough for little hands. Great quality, sturdy and superior look. Collectors are buying these up like hot cakes and ebay is living proof that people are willing to shell out the cash for these. Especially for the ones that are harder to find.

People have written reviews on these that no stores carry them. They have been sold out because there has been a rush on these toys even before the movie release. Hopefully as time goes on and if they keep producing them they will be easier to come by. That's what I am hoping for. I don't have all the characters yet and would like at least one of each for my son, maybe even more for collecting.

Three days after the Mater truck arrived, the wheels broke off. Maybe the company who makes these should consult with Matchbox. My kids haven't broken the wheels off a Matchbox car yet.

We are very pleased w/ this toy. I looked all over the place, and could not find one, and then I found it on Amazon. It arrived promptly and in excellent condition. My son was so happy! The tow hook broke off after some time, but that does not hinder the good times!

Mater may be one of the easiest to find die cast characters from the movie "Cars", but he's certainly the one with the most rustic (and rusty) charm.

He comes with faded paint, rusty rims, missing hood, rear view mirrors and tow hook (the last two are made of plastic), and my son was overjoyed to find out that this model actually squeaks when it moves.

All the characters in the die cast series that I have seen so far are well made, very strong, and sized perfectly for take-along entertainment, but the one who truly deserves a 5 star review for brilliant attention to detail is good ole Mater.

Whether you're a child, a parent or a collector you're really gonna get a kick out of Mater.

Great toy, my son loves it as well as the movie.
Watch out for lead paint recalls.

He has Ligtning and Mater and spends every waking moment that he can with them. They even go to bed. My only problem is the not so durable tow hooks on Mater and they should actually work. My son tried to hook them up like he saw on the picture.

One of the main characters from the hit movie and a must have for your collection, my only criticism is the towing component seems fragile, though it has held up to play by my 5 year old so far.

I ordered this toy for my 2 year old son and he loves it. Mater's tow hook broke off not long after we received the toy. My son still plays with it and it does not bother him at all. This is a nice, heavy weight toy that seems quite durable, less the tow hook.

and keeps trying to hook up the little Lightning McQueen by the rear, as he saw in the movie.

too bad noone thought of it - kids always try to do what they see in the movies.

other than that little frustration, this is a great toy, heavy and sturdy, and my son loves it.

This was a gift for a 8 yr old boy...he loved it!
