Excellent graphics; good for number, letter, pattern recognition,

TECHNICAL ASPECTS FOR INSTALLATION
This game uses windows 2000/XP with Direct X version 9.0C which is included on the CD;on your pc select start->run->dxdiag to see if you are running Direct X and which version; the CD will automatically detect and upgrade/install Direct X. Incredible graphics which look very similar to the movie scenes with respect to the clarity and vivid colors. As of Jan 2006, this is using technology well, as opposed to the Win95 era games which look very antiquainted by comparison. The hardware running this game at my house is the same I use for creating/editing home movie DVDs (fast processor, 2005 fast harddrive) and there is no problem with speed. However, if you have say, a pre-2002 computer for example there might be some issues with speed, hardware compatibility, etc. GAMES For the child of 3-4 years old who is just learning colors, numbers, letters and pattern recognition (diamonds, rectangles, stars, stripes) this game is appropriate. There are about 3 or 4 games and they are developed well in the sense that they teach a specific skill in each game. If there were more games, it would be great. My child spends about 1 hour broken into 20 minute sessions a day playing the game and enjoys it very much. It is his preferred activity in the morning. If the child can use the mouse, he can play the game; It will take a few times of parent involvement to get started because to start the game there are some specific steps which have to be followed but after 5 or so times the child should be able to start by himself. The music and graphics are very pleasant. However, one aspect which was noted immediately was that after something is clicked, the fish talk or do something and the reaction from the game is not immediate and the child who does not wait for the fish to finish talking will click again because he doesn't see the expected result immediately. For example, Dory has a big mouth and talks for about 10 seconds after the mouse click quite frequently. Until Dory finishes her sentence, the game does not take you to the next scene. This was well worth the money spent in my opinion as it teaches well.

I had a very dissapointed toddler and have had to go through Disney support to exchange for another game (they're quite amiable with this exchange), alot of trouble for us though, so caution when trying to run Disney games with windows vista

My toddler found this game quite slow. Not enough interactive to keep him going. If you have a child just starting out on the computer this may be a good way to help with mousse navigation, but otherwise too boring. Definitely too boring far a child over 4 already equipped with good computer skills!
