4.0 out of 5 stars Fan of the movie? Check it out! November 25, 2001
I'm an avid fan of Monsters, Inc. as well as a long time video game enthusiast, and I can say that I honestly enjoyed my romp through this game. Though it doesn't take very long to complete, it accurately captures the fun and feel of the movie that fans of all ages are sure to enjoy.
The gameplay consists of standard action/adventure fare. Sulley is to find a number of particular items scattered across different areas, including pieces of Boo's door, laugh cannisters, Boo's teddy bear, etc. Find 100 pieces of candy for an extra life - sound familiar? There is nothing groundbreaking here, but it isn't a chore to play as it controls extremely well and the levels are laid out very well.
The graphics and animation are top-notch for a GBA game, as Sulley and just about every other character in the game are animated very clearly and smoothly.
Bottom Line - If you enjoyed the movie, there is an excellent chance you will enjoy this game - especially the younger bunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Think November 26, 2001
By A Customer
My son is 6 and he is a gameboy addict so to say that only older children play gameboy is false. My daughter is 4 and my friend's son is 3 and they too are addicts. SO this game is perfect for them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Game March 16, 2002
I bought this game after seeing Disney's Monters Inc. in theatres and I was amazed to see that this game is just like the movie! You play as Sulley, the big blue monster who is searching for the lost Boo and you have to get her to safety. You can explore 20 different levels in search of door pieces scattered about which help you find Boo. When Sulley is faced against an evil monster, he can use his loud, powerful roar or his effective Laugh Launcher. After beating certain levels and accomplishing special tasks you can play in bonus mini-games and fun puzzles.
My best advice is to buy this game for it's element of fun, long-lasting gameplay, and the fact that it is just like the movie.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is an okay game May 8, 2002
By A Customer
This game is fun at the beginninge but it gets old real quick. what I don't like about this game is that it has no save feature, all it does is give you a code at the end of each level and you have to remember it. I don't like this because I would write the code down on a piece of paper then I would lose the paper by accident. Another thing that I don't like about it is that it has very subtle changes between the easy, medium, and hard options.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game! November 23, 2001
By A Customer
This game is great! I really liked the Sulley screams and the laugh canister. Sulley looks great on the GBA! So does Boo and Mike. I wish I could play Mike like the GameBoy Color version.
The Door Puzzles were fun!
My favorite level was the Sushi Restaurant!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very short, but not linear either.
My first time through it was only 3-and-a-half hours later! But to add depth, you search through a maze of rooms to find 3 missing pieces to the door. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Kind of disappointing...
The graphics are not so hot, and the game play is very boring. My 3 yr old son only played it for a few minutes before losing interest. We'll be trading this one in soon.
