First, Amazon currently has the listings for the Power Rangers: Great Adventures and Power Rangers: Jungle Fury - We Are the Power Rangers books linked. This review is for the Great Adventures book.

Power Rangers: Great Adventures isn't really a story book per se. The book basically gives an introduction to three separate Power Rangers series - SPD, Mystic Force and Operation Overdrive. They cover the main characters from each series (though they barely mention the female members of the teams) and the Zords and Megazords. You don't see any of the bad guys, and there's no real story. None of that seemed to bother my son, who was happy with the colorful photos and easy to read text. Still, I think I'll do some more research before I order another Power Rangers book for him.

This book is not a Level 1 beginning to read book. It includes complex words that are not easily sounded out and non English words that parents might not know how to pronounce. Here are examples: warriors, jaguars, kung fu, dai shi, megazords, violet, jungle.

This is a fun book that would appeal to kids but it needs a higher level rating.

When I bought this I didn't realize how many different Power Ranger versions there are! My son is very into the Samurai version, and was confused that the characters in this story were different. Still a good book, just know that it's not the show that's currently on TV.
