4.0 out of 5 stars Simply adorable!!
Our daughter just received this for her 4th birthday and absolutely loves it as do all her friends. It was easy to assemble-a plus as far as kid's toys go. We have had no issues with durability or tipping. It does what it should. When the key is in place, Cinderella appears in the mirror. There is a place for all the needs of a little princess. 3.0 out of 5 stars Vanity Table
This is a cute idea but it just isnt durable enough for my 3 year old. It tips over easily ( on carpet )which I think has contributed to ruining the lighted Cinderella image that appears within the mirror.I have to prop it against the wall. There is good storage for her "beauty products", hairbrushes, bows, etc. It was easy to assemble.

We have had no issues with durability or tipping. It does what it should. When the key is in place, Cinderella appears in the mirror. There is a place for all the needs of a little princess. It's voice is perfectly clear and understandable. We just bought the additional accessories to add to the fun.

This is just a cute vanity to make any little Cinderella's day!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Vanity!, October 29, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Disney Princess Cinderella Talking Vanity (Toy)
My daughter just got this vanity for her 5th birthday. She absolutely loves it! Cinderella lights up and talks to her. The vanity will tell her which accessory to pick up next. If she chooses the correct one, the vanity lights up and gives another phrase about that accessory. I think that this vanity is very sturdy. There is plenty of storage space for all of her accessories, make-up, and jewelry. The stool is very sturdy. My 5 year old and 7 year old daughters can both sit comfortably on the stool with their legs under the vanity. The both love the vanity and play with it for hours! They also love the hair accessory kit that goes with this vanity.

2.0 out of 5 stars Really really small - disappointed to see in person, November 21, 2005

I have a 2.5 year old and a 4 year old. They will tower over this thing. I went to Toys R Us to look at it in person and was shocked at how small it is. The concept is cute, but the size was super disappointing. Found something similar at Big Lots for $30 - not as many bells and whistles, but still a disney product, same style.

Once you get past the really annoying voice, this vanity is 100% adorable. It isn't made very well and the smaller stickers are really hard to put on, but once you get past the frustration and see your little princess light up with joy as she plays with it, it makes it all worth it. The only issue I would have with durability is the tiny little plastic stool that comes with it. Good luck seating a child that weighs more than 40lbs on that tiny fragile seat! Also, watch the weight on the vanity itself. I set it up with small pumpkin gourds sitting on the table and cinderella's light up slippers next to them with Cinderella's tiara, etc all around and noticed it sunk down just a bit. Any more weight and i'm sure it would have broke - It did make for a great presentation at the "princess party/ball" though. :) Overall, this is an adorable piece to add to your little princess's room so long as it is handled with care and appreciation.

12:30 AM on Christmas Eve, and I finally got the silly light to work. If you're still having trouble, follow these steps:

1. Remove the mirror (I know you've already tried this 5 times)

2. Unscrew the top from the legs so you just have the top to push the mirror into.

3. Push the mirror down as far as it will go.

4. Flip the top over so you're looking at the underside of the top and you will see 2 screws holding a cover over the bottom of the electronic port. (You will also probably see the gap that is keeping you from getting a connection)

5. Push down on the cap over the port and you will hear a loud snap (I thought I had really broken it!)

6. Try it again, and the lights should work.

7. Stay up til dawn putting all the screws back in to attach the legs again!

Merry Christmas!

Daddy needs a nap!

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT GIFT FOR YOUR LITTLE PRINCESS, December 15, 2005
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

I was a little reluctant to purchasing this after reading some of the other reviews, but with everything you see different opinions. My daughter(4)is big into princesses and is such a primper already. She has all the dress up costumes and plays like she is going to the ball all the time. She saw this on a commerical and really wanted it. She put it on her Santa list. Boy is she going to be thrilled. We probably won't see her for a week. The interacting accessories are great and upon just putting the item together it works perfectly. I saw on some previous reviews that cinderella didn't light up well in the mirror. This one is bright. The manual suggests that if she doesn't show up bright that either batteries need changing or the connection between the top mirror unit and the table aren't tight together. There isn't suppose to be any gap and has to be a tight fit. So you need to make sure you put this portion together correctly. Also you can purchase the hairstyling interactive set that works with the vanity. The vanity has lots of storage for extra accessories as well. It has a drawer in the middle and two swing out doors on the sides that are spacey. The item is a little pricey, but I don't regret spending the money on it. I know she will love it! As far as educational it does teach your child to listen and follow directions. Cinderella tells you what accessory to pick up and rewards you with lights and a view of cinderella in the mirror. If you pick up the wrong item it tells you what the item is and a little description, etc.

well it is 1:30 on christmas eve and I too have had trouble with the getting the lights to work on this toy! I found the problem to be the connection between the mirror and the table to be misalligned. If you remove the mirror, there is a black connector coming out of the table. Check to make sure the connector is straight up and down , mine was angled toward the back of the table letting the mirror go all the way down as if it were connected correctly. To fix the problem I angled the connector forward slightly with a screwdriver the I made sure I put the mirror straight down making contact with the connector.

My daughter received the vanity for her 4th birthday. I had already purchased the Step 2 vanity which I liked much better, but Daddy went and got her the one she wanted. It was the only thing she asked for. It is very flimsy and tips over very easily if placed on carpet. Within 5 minutes I noticed a large scratch on the mirror. I contacted Disney to find out about replacing that part but am waiting for a response. The light up feature in the mirror is pretty neat. My daughter likes it, but the quality is poor and I don't expect it to last too long.
