4.0 out of 5 stars Clever model!
As stated, this book opens up to be the model of a Disney-style castle. It comes complete with little cardboard people to use in play, and a pocket to store them inside the cover. I gave it only four stars because the dining hall did not open properly. I couldn't even tell what it was supposed to be, since the chairs remained flattened to the floor until I fixed it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work well
I bought this for my daughter at the same time I bought a "my fairy treehouse" for my older daughter. We had previously had the my fairy treehouse and I knew how much they loved and played with it. I thought this would be neat so my younger daughter would have something as well. Unfortunately the paper people do not stand up, the rooms don't open fully. The dining room is...

I gave it only four stars because the dining hall did not open properly. I couldn't even tell what it was supposed to be, since the chairs remained flattened to the floor until I fixed it. The model will not hold up under any kind of energetic play, and seems to me to be somewhat unrealistic for that purpose.

The dining room is especially bad. It's a good idea with poor execution. Stick the the "My fairy treehouse" and other books in that series. This product is a waste of money. It has been stuck on the shelf and noone wants to use it. They fight over the My Fairy Treehouse instead. I will be purchasing another book from that series.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Disney Disappointment, November 25, 2007

This review is from: Disney Princess: The Enchanted Castle Pop-Up (Hardcover)
This is a mediocre 3-D cardboard castle. The pop-up exterior view is OK but the two interiors are very simple, with pop-ups that don't function well. It is meant as a setting for the accompanying Disney Princess paper dolls, but I think children will get bored with it quickly. Anyone who enjoys the sophisticated pop-ups that are currently available will definitely be disappointed with this one.

This is very pretty to look at, but the pop ups dont really pop out correctly, you have to play with the chairs and roof a bit to get them right. I do like the way you tie the book open and it stays as a castle, but the pop out dolls are useless, they dont stand on their own and there are no slots to stick them into the scene. My 3 1/2 yr old loved getting this for Christmas but hasnt asked to play or look at it since.
