5.0 out of 5 stars Great Playset
Great playset. My 3 yr old loves this and carries Cinderella around everywhere. We don't have any trouble with the clothing breaking or the dolls heads falling off, although one dress broke after 9 months of not-gentle play. I like that this set has a prince, too. We need to use a small rubberband to hold the carriage on to the horse. My kids (3 & 5 both love this.)

I have no idea how it started, but my 3 year old daughter is completely infatuated with all things princess....so this set is of course a necessity. She plays with this (and other polly pocket princess sets) every day, all day. She narrates stories, gets them dressed and undressed, and sometimes they even go visit the dinosaurs! 5.0 out of 5 stars Daughter's Favorite, October 23, 2010

My daughter has had this set for over a year now and has enjoyed hours and hours of play with it. None of the clothes have torn and Cinderella and Prince Charming both still have their heads.

The key to keeping the heads in tact is in the art of placing and removing the clothes. Teach the children to never hold the doll by the head while placing or removing the clothes. Hold on to the body or thighs of the doll.

If your child is younger than 5 they probably shouldn't be playing with these because they may not have the fine motor skills needed for dressing/undressing the dolls correctly. That being said, my daughter was 4 when she received this set from her grandmother. I was the one who dressed her dolls for the first several months, each time teaching her how to hold the dolls and their clothes. We practiced together while playing. It was fun and educational all at the same time.

As for the complaints I've read about concerning the small parts, this is something you have to consider when purchasing this or any other toy with small parts. If you don't want to worry about misplaced parts or choking hazards, then don't purchase the item! Or you can try what we did when our daughter was younger and talk about the tiny pieces and put them in a special, safe place until the child is a little older and more responsible. If handled correctly, your child will be more than happy to protect the little pieces.

The one negative I have about this set is actually concerning the carriage. It is very difficult to open, even for an adult. If you don't squeeze it in just the right location with the correct pressure it won't budge. Over time, it became easier but at first, my only pet peeve about this set was the carriage.

Overall, my daughter and I both love this set and would purchase it again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the most durable toy..., March 23, 2009

I have no idea how it started, but my 3 year old daughter is completely infatuated with all things princess....so this set is of course a necessity. She plays with this (and other polly pocket princess sets) every day, all day. She narrates stories, gets them dressed and undressed, and sometimes they even go visit the dinosaurs! This set is very cute and will provide hours of entertainment for your kids...provided the dolls don't break. As noted, it does take pretty advanced fine motor skills for a 3 year old to dress/undress the dolls, especially the shoes. They tend to hold the head of the doll and pull hard on the clothing, which can lead to headless dolls. I haven't had any luck supergluing due to an square plastic extendable piece inside the neck. But it's pretty cheap to just replace the broken doll (about $5) should that happen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to keep track of, October 9, 2008

My almost 3 year old daughter "bought" this toy by cashing in stickers that she had earned for staying in bed. She still loves it even though it has been almost a month. However, I do agree with other reviewers that the parts are very small and become lost easily. We keep the small pieces in a ziplock bag and she is only allowed to open the bag while sitting at the kitchen table or at her play table. The parts are so small, they almost pose no choking hazard to my 13 month old. The shoes are smaller than an extra strength Tylenol! That being said, my daughter can't put the shoes or dresses on without help but absolutely loves the carrying case and probably enjoys carrying the toy around most of all! Loves putting the princess and the accessories in the carriage and connecting the horse (doesn't stay connected well) for a ride to the ball! Has been a great princess toy. Fun for little girls who like Cinderella.

A fairy tale dream come true, this playset includes a beautiful horse and carriage that fits one doll and really rolls, lots of dress-up fashions and accessories, and more. Everything comes neatly packed in a castle-like carry case. Includes 25 pieces

My daughter loves this set. The dresses are faily easy to change out on Cinderella. The horse does unhook too easily from the carriage, but this is no big deal. The biggest complaint is that Prince Charming will not stand up no matter how he is positioned. Makes the role playing a little more difficult.

1.0 out of 5 stars I hate this toy!, May 27, 2009
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
I can never understand toys that are marketed for young children yet nearly impossible for them to do! The parts are small and flimsy and nearly impossible for young children to play with. This toy causes frustration for children and parents. Basically....my child tell me what to do with it and I do it for her.

The clothes are very difficult to put on, even for adults. We have many ripped clothes and have super glued the heads back on so many times...my daughter LOVES playing with these, but they're disappointing from a parents' perspective. They are very poor quality and not worth the money!

2.0 out of 5 stars What kind of idiot came up with such small parts for such young children????????????????????????????????, July 15, 2008

We got this as a birthday present for our daughter and a few minutes after opening it, we had lost some accessories. Now please explain to me, who the heck came up with making such small parts for such small kids? I mean the dresses part and carriage etc are probably tolerable for parents, much fun for the children ... BUT the tiny accessories such as shoes , crowns and more. WHY? Why do they want the children to be frustrated about losing the parts and driving their parents insane?

I mean to me the message is clear ... this toy is teaching little children that it is alright to buy stuff and then lose them. That is just disrespectful and irresponsible, because the message we teach our daughter is to take good care of her things and to do her best to put things in their proper place.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
