5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice! Much nicer and larger than expected!
This princess hut is very nice. It's well-made, durable, and much larger than I anticipated. I like how it has a front and back door which breezy "curtains" for the ultimate princess feel. I bought this for my 15-month-old toddler who is a little too young for it. She likes to push it over on its side while she's in it and it makes me nervous because I don't want her...

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs stronger poles
MY 4 YEAR OLD BENT 3 POLES IN 30 MINUTES. They are plastic shock corded poles, 8 of them, 4 for the bottom half and 4 for the top half. 1) They should have designed it so there are fewer poles. 2) The poles should be stronger. They are hollow plastic poles, I think made so that they will not be "dangerous". 3 of the 4 bottom half poles are broken because my daughter...

3 of the 4 bottom half poles are broken because my daughter knocked over the tent and while inside, leaned over to try to push it back upright. I have them taped up with duct tape, but one has bent again, so I need like steel reinforced tape, or I need to slip in wooden dowels inside the hollow plastic tubes. They are not broken at the shock corded part, it is on the length of the pole. The tent itself is fine and my daughter really loved the idea of a play tent. She plays in it still with one side kind of collapsed. It is roomy enough for 3 kids her size to sit in.

Within the first day, this tent broke - Two of the poles bent and the fabric ripped. I am very disappointed with my purchase. For the price, it should have been more durable. I don't recommend this at all - save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars ADULT assembly EVERYTIME-NOT FUN! LOTS of POLES!, January 9, 2010

My daughter received the small Disney Princess snap up playhut for her birthday in October, but quickly grew out of it, and wanted more room. Her older sister has the Mickey Mouse version (which holds 4-6 kids) and we loved it, and went on the search for something similar, but Princess-like...

I bought the Disney Fairies Light Up model and took it back, because the quality was nothing like the Mickey one. Not to mention, it had poles that were horrible to get through the top to hold the roof up (I spent 20 minutes trying and then gave up). It was not an instant set up hut like the Mickey one and the hut from her birthday. Took it back an hour later.

We also tried the LETS PLAY CASTLE Disney Princess Playhut, and it had 12 POLES. My six year old is not capable of installing them, and it took me 5 minutes. It was easy, but the point is that these tents should be easy to set up and a child should be able to do it themselves. I was so frustrated. I took that one back, as well.

Then, I discovered another Disney Princess version at TRU, and the materials used are just like the Mickey Playhut AND it only has 4 very small poles to support the corners at the top sides to make it slightly more taller. They are not needed to hold the hut up like the other versions I tried. In fact it looks just as good without them. This hut is worth the extra money, because it is made so much nicer and no crazy poles to deal with. SUPER SUPER Happy now, and glad the search is finally over. All Playhuts are not created equal. Be very careful about the poles and the material used is my best advice.

Get this Castle version, if you want to set it up all time, or if you have a place to set it up continually. I just thought it was too much trouble to deal with...

1.0 out of 5 stars Beyond garbage!, January 5, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Disney Princess - Let's Play Castle (Toy)
They ought to be ashamed to have put it in the box. It is the worst quality toy I have ever experienced in all of my six years of having kids. In addition to the drastically poor quality, it was also missing at least 4 of the poles necessary to put it together. Unfortunately, I did not discover this until 10pm on Christmas Eve. I had to run around the house improvising to get the tent to stay up, so my kids were not disappointed. I also agree with the poor quality material. The poles ripped right through it like paper when putting it together, even though I was trying to be careful. Now I have to explain why Santa brought such a crummy toy that has to be returned and will have to look for another tent. DEFINITELY DON'T BUY IT NO MATTER HOW NICE IT LOOKS IN THE PICTURE! You will be disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Will break in 1 day & fall apart after 30 days, November 28, 2009
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars

The first day after about 30min of play, the side bottom entrance tore. Very bad design - its not meant for kids to actually go in and out of it apparently. If the kid presses down on the bottom while entering - it will rip. It is designed to rip. How dumb. My kids like this tent, but sadly it won't last very long. We've had it for 2 months and will be shocked if it lasts another month. Poles have bent and broken, it now has 2 large tears, poles are deformed and poke through the fabric and out the top causing the tent to slouch and fall over. My kids are 4 and 2 and don't even play that rough in it. Don't buy this!

My daughter received this for Christmas and by the end of the day it was already bent and unsturdy. When I saw the price that my sister paid for this, I was even more angry. Complete waste of money. The fabric is very cheap and was ripped at door of the castle the first day. The poles are basically large straws that once they are bent (which happens very easily), they do not bend back and the the castle no longer stands upright. The poles also poke holes in the top of the castle thereby keeping the castle from standing upright. We were given a pop-up school bus that was made out of the parachute material 10 years ago and after 4 boys and 1 girl it is still standing and in one piece. I'll be looking for a princess castle that is made of the same material that will last longer than 24 hours.

1.0 out of 5 stars Improved Quality Materials and Strength? .....NOT!, January 2, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Disney Princess - Let's Play Castle (Toy)
Even though the box boldly promises "Improved Quality, Materials and Strength" this is poorly made....

Within the first day two of the poles had ripped through the top of the inside of the tent, which supports the sides of the tent, so now it leans to one side. It seems that is a major problem that the company should have caught early in the manufacturing process. All they needed to do is add a cap to the top of the pole.

I'm going to try to rig it with some cardboard egg crate at the top on the poles to it will not poke through.

[...]

I just shot them a message. I will see what happens.

1.0 out of 5 stars So disappointing!, December 31, 2009
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

This tent is so cute...but so cheaply made! The fabric and the stitching are beyond poor. The 'lip' under the door ripped the second time my 4 year old went inside because he simply tripped over it and caused it to tug. I ended up being able to get it replaced and didn't the same thing happen to the second one within 15 minutes of use. One of the poles also began to poke through the top. I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and though she and my 4 year old son enjoy it, I have serious doubts that it will last longer than a week. I read previous reveiws but thought the problems were rectified because the box said something like "improved design" but apparently it still has the same problems. My son has two other pop up tents that cost roughly half the price and neither has a single flaw in three years of use. I think this tent is only appropriate for a really calm, careful child...if such a child exists. Invest in something else.

One week later...yup, completely destroyed!--I am utterly ashamed of Disney for putting their name on such a piece of garbage!

We got this for Christmas, my 3 year old daughter absolutely loved it, it's easy to put together in minutes, however it's made of a paper-like material that rips very easily, it isn't sturdy at all, the whole tent just ripped at the bottom on the frame which ruined the whole entrance area, will be returning for full refund, I wouldn't waste your money on this cheaply made product.
