Disney Princess Little Mermaid Ariel Pop-up Castle Playset

I bought this for my neice who LOVES "The Little Mermaid" and all those Polly Pocket Playset, and I must say I was VERY impressed with this playset (I wouldn't mind having one for myself!) The playset is pre-assembled (with the exception of some furniture pieces that are a snap to assemble!)(Thank God!) and has SO many possibilities! You open the case and it pops up to a castle- lift the castle and you've got an entire world! Includes Furniture such as a Dinner table and two chairs, a bed, Prince Eric Figure, clthes hanger, Sebastian and Flounder figures, boat, Flowers, and of course an Ariel figure with changeble outfits! Ariel's Wardrobe includes her Tail, Seashell bra, Pink Dinner outfit (made out of fabric!), two tiaras, and shoes. I am concerned at how small the shoes and tiaras are, but luckily there's a rock for Ariel to sit on that also holds the smaller items. I do wish it came with more furniture, and maybe another outfit, but overall it's well put together, and offers hours upon hours of fun- My neice LOVED it! The size also makes it possible for her to use her Polly Pocket and Precious Princess dolls (pretty much just Disney Princess Polly Pockets!) This is a GREAT toy for that little Mermaid fan, and well worth the price!

I was concerned about getting this toy for my daughter, since it seems to be "hard to find" according to some. You don't have to pay $200 to have it. Wal-Mart has it in stock on their website. It is $34.97 plus tax/shipping. I ordered it on Monday and got it today! VERY CUTE. Comes with Ariel doll that child can change from mermaid to princess, Eric doll (both about 4 inches), Flounder, Sebastian, furniture and even a boat to take thru the glittering waters. Want it for Christmas? Go check Wal-Mart(who still had it in stock when I checked today) and DON'T PAY $200.

If your child loves Little Mermaid, then she will probably like the Castle Playset. Otherwise, it's just a flimsy little dollhouse. It's worth about $35 max, in my opinion. I had to exchange the first set I bought because it wouldn't stay latched shut. The plastic is thin and it was a little warped. Don't count on a three or four year old being able to get it set up and folded back down herself. I'm not sorry I bought it, but I only paid $30.

My 5-year-old daughter received this as a Christmas present from her grandparents. She's LOVED Ariel, her favorite princess, since she was 1! She comes in and out of playing with her but still has always remained her favorite. This was an easy present to select for her. She loves Polly Pocket stuff and has a lot of the Disney Princesses of the Polly-Pocket-nature so she uses them with this playset interchangeably. It's a magical set seeing it all together (the underground "water" area is fun.) We love that it included Prince Eric because although she has all of the princesses, we rarely have their corresponding Prince. Nice also to include Sebastian and Flounder (my son's favorites!) Folds up nicely like a suitcase but the bigger pieces don't fit in easily (or at all - like the boat, table and bed) but we keep them in a small clear storage container nearby. Is sturdy enough for her - not like some of the other recent Disney Princess flimsy castle playsets. Some of the pieces are very tiny so if you have a young toddler who puts things in her/his mouth, beware. But if you're already a Polly Pocket fan, you're quite accustomed to the tiny pieces that go with the territory and challenge/develop those fine motor skills. Such imaginative play to be had here! Hours of fun!

Walmart has these in stock and on line for the retail price of 34.99... Don't pay $95-$159 from these sorry opportunist that get them at the same price... Rediculous... They should be ashamed...

Alot bigger then I thought

I was really surprised when I received this today in the mail. My little girl kept asking for it for Christmas, and I thought it was going to be just another junkie doll house, but it's really nice. I took it out of the box, and it pops up so easily, and there are plenty of accessories with it. Well worth the money, and I know both of my daughters will also use it for their polly pockets and littlest pet shop toys.

Pefect addition to any little mermaid collection. Very durable plastic, not too many little pieces. Clothes for dolls could be easier to take on/off.

Although my daughter was excited to receive this present, when I opened it and saw all of the very little pieces that were included, I was not so thrilled. The case is somewhat hard to close and even harder to keep closed. The pieces do not really fit inside (if you want to close it that is). My daughter does like the Ariel and Prince Eric doll that came with it and she plays with them in the tub. I would probably skip this gift if you have little ones to worry about putting things in their mouth.

My 3 year old asked for this for Christmas. It is compact and comes with many accessories. We leave it open because she enjoys playing with it so much. However, it would be easy to travel with or move from room to room. If your child is an Ariel fan or loves the Little Mermaid story, this is a great buy. We also bought a set of Little Mermaid figurines from the Disney Store. They are not an exact match in terms of scale but did come with Ursala and King Triton. This makes it more fun and means we have more characters for sharing with friends. Ariel can also wear the rubber princess cothes from the Disney playsets. Again, good for enhancing the experience.

My daughter got this for Christmas, and loves it! There are LOTS of little tiny parts, just like Polly Pocket toys, so if you have a younger one in the house, you may want to consider staying away from this one. The pieces do store inside though, and the detail is really nice once you get it open. I almost broke it on the first day because I did not realize you have to open the side doors first! The side doors are also designed to keep the toy open, but they pop open sometimes and the castle falls over. it's a pretty sturdy toy, though, and is great for an imaginative child!
