AWW just right for my little princess.,

This review is from: Disney Princess: Pretty Puzzles (and Sweet Stories) (Princesses) (Hardcover)
This book is so cute. I bought it for my 4 year old for xmas. The pieces aren't as sturdy as I was hoping but they aren't going to break easy too. Each puzzle has a story to read along with it. She loves puzzles, books, and the disney princess stories so this is a great way to combine those things. But as a recommendation for other parents keep a box handy for those kids who don't always want to put away the toys. (like mine) just so the pieces don't get lost.

Pieces do not stay in the book,

We bought this book for our 3 year old daughter for a flight as a "convenient" way to carry a bunch of puzzles in one book. She liked the book well enough, but there is one major problem: the puzzles that are embedded in the pages of the book don't stay in the book. As a result, if you finish one puzzle and turn the page to go to the next puzzle, it is pretty likely that the just-completed puzzle from the previous page will spill all over the place. This flaw makes the book completely useless almost immediately (at least in its book form). The only real remedy is to put the puzzle pieces in containers once you are done, which basically defeats the point of the book format. The puzzles are nice and pretty, but be prepared for frustration when the completed puzzles don't stay in the book.

I bought this puzzle book a few years back when my daughter was only two. She needed some help then, but now that she's six she can do each puzzle by herself. This is one toy that we both will enjoy for years to come ~ it will make a nice keepsake. As for all the pieces not staying in the book after a puzzle is done....my daughter closes the book and pushes down on the cover for a few minutes and all the pieces from the puzzle that was just finished stay in place...this is a very delightful story book featuring Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and the last one features all the them together and with an added bonus of a puzzle on each page. What an excellent concept and it will be a great gift for any Disney princess lover!

My 3 year old LOVES this book; she got it for Christmas!!! She is very into the Disney Princesses and loves for us to read to her and look at books by herself. She does the puzzles in this book at least once a day, and we read her the story on the opposite page. At first, we needed to do the entire puzzle with her, but now she is able to separate the border pieces from the center puzzle pieces, and she can do 85% of the puzzle all by herself!! We have had no problems with the pieces falling out of the book; we've had no problems at all!!

Looks like you are getting your money's worth, but in reality, the pieces fall out once you do it. So, all the pieces end up in a baggie, and your kid has to sort through to figure out which pieces are for which puzzle.

My 4-year old love this!,

My daughter received this as a present for her 3rd birthday. She would occassionally take out the puzzle and we would do it together. Then, as she started approaching 4, she began to be able to do the puzzles by herself. She loves them now and completes them over and over again. The pieces do have a tendency to fall out when you turn the page. All you need to do is to hold the page in front tightly when turning and it should do the trick. If it does fall apart, we just laugh because that means that she gets to do it JUST ONE MORE TIME!

Puzzle pieces falling out? Not a problem!,

My daughter has been crazy about jigsaw puzzles since she was 2 and half years old. She just got interested in Disney princess before she turned 3. She received this puzzle book for her 3-year-old birthday and has been constantly asking for it. I was not happy with the design at first when the pieces fell out after she had turned the page, but I came up with my solution right away. I closed the book with all the puzzle pieces where they should be, and opened it to the page my daughter wanted to work on and used a large(about 2" wide) binder/paper clip to hold the previous pages. This way, no puzzle pieces will fall out and no clean-up required. We likes this system and yes, parental assistance is required -- a yound child does not have enough strength to handle a binder clip that size. Another option is to use one or two large rubber bands to bundle previous pages together. I hope my ideas help!

cute concept, but a pain for clean-up,

My daughter (3) loves this book, and likes doing the puzzles, but it is a pain when you want to clean up or put away the toy. Unlike a traditional puzzle that comes with a box to throw in the pieces, to put these away you have to assemble all 7 puzzles. There's only so much puzzling she has patience for! We tried ziploc baggies for the pieces, but then it's too hard for her to pick out the appropriate pieces for each of the seven puzzles (although they do have a nice color-coded backing). And occasionally, once we get all the pieces back in, if she bends the pages too much as she's putting it away (if the book is slightly open) then pieces will fall out as certain puzzles come undone. So, definitely not a tidy Mom's favorite toy, but for my 3-year old you can't beat anything with princesses on it.

Daughter loves it, but cleaning up is a nightmare!,

The puzzles are great and a lot of fun for my two-year old. She loves anything 'princessy' so the princesses were a big selling point. However, after she did each puzzle a couple of times, the pieces didn't stay in the book. When we'd flip the page, all the pieces from that page would fall out. We ended up taking all the pieces out and putting them in a container, which is not the point of the book at all! At least the backs of the pieces are colored specifically for one puzzle in the book, and my daughter gets practice at sorting her colors for half an hour before we can play with her puzzles.

Great book my daughter loves it, the only downside is that there are so many puzzle pieces that it is difficult to know what page the piece of the puzzle goes too. Otherwise it is a great book!
