My daughter loves this set. The build is taking her a little time but it is broken up nicely into three parts with corresponding bags to account for the younger ages that will be interested in this line. At 5.5, she is able to build it independently with some sticker assistance. I agree with the critique that Lego should have printed the blocks rather than going the sticker route, at least on the tower and especially for the per brick price of the set. Despite this, the tower looks beautiful when completed. I love the staircase, which is designed to fold into itself and makes the lower part of the tower more accessible to little fingers and the figures.

There are several tiny pieces, which I don't mind because we are used to Playmobil. (This seems like a trend in the "girlier" Lego sets anyway.) The only enhancements that would have made it even more fun would have been one additional level for the tower and a Mother Gothel mini-figure. Otherwise, I think Lego did a fine job on this set and I believe it is a great choice for young Disney Princess fans looking to graduate from Duplo blocks into the Lego line.

Through word of the Lego grapevine, I was able to find out about 10 days before Christmas that the Lego store had a small supply of the new Disney "princess" sets available (the official release date was Jan 1). A quick call to the Easton, OH Lego store yielded the Tangled tower and the Cinderella castle sets and they were kind enough to ship them to us in PA. They arrived in plenty of time to be wrapped and put under the tree for our youngest daughter (she is 5). Even though she is probably a little young for a set like this (to build it certainly, but she's fine playing with it once her builder - me - completes it), she is used to playing with her 8 year old sister's Lego Friends sets and won't mess with Duplo. This is a nice set with some nice details -- the girls have been playing with them for the past week or so on and off again. My only complaints -- 1. too many small "filler" pieces that pad the piece count on the box front that you can't use to "build" with and I don't care for stickers -- just include pre "painted" pieces already (example -- the "pies" are pre-decorated parts. The graphics on the stove door is not -- it's a sticker you have to stick on the block). The included brick "picker" is nice to have to get some of the previously mentioned little parts off of things like base plates.

Finally, the princesses come to older-kid size legos (instead of duplos). This set was perfect for our 5 year old daughter. With the instructions, she built nearly the whole tower with little to no adult help. She's worked with legos before, so if this is a first set, your child may need more help, and you'll definitely want to help with the stickers. We're so happy with this set, and its many cute accessories (including Pascal and Rapunzel's trusty frying pan)

Conclusion: Fun building experience, looks great on display. But too cramped and empty to actually play with. Especially when compared to the other sets that are more interactive and fun.

Review:
As our first set then it was an amazing building experience. It started out tough to get the girls to focus and not just snap anything together but as we got into a "teamwork" routine then following the well-written instructions was fun and easy. And 45 minutes later (yeah, we went slow) then we had a cute little Rapunzel Tower for them to play with... kinda.

I observed the girls and "Playtime" was 90% rapunzel standing in the window talking to Flynn so I decided to expand our collection. Over the last few weeks we've accumulated a lot of new sets. LEGO Friends Cars and Shops as well as some SuperHero sets. And that is when this set lost it's value to me. The LEGO superhero playsets have interactive elements like shooting missles or breaking walls, and the LEGO Friends sets have more space to play and are filled with little items for the characters. So I've noticed that our kids have completely ignored the more expensive Tower in favor of the cheaper sets. And that seems a bit backwards as a parent and as a consumer.

Pros:
- Looks great on Display
- Rapunzel and Flynn characters

Cons:
- Almost nothing to do inside (Mirror, oversized chair)
- Ground level is biggest room but contains a collapsable stairs that takes all the space
- Falls apart too easy. Base is 4 pieces that dont have enough connector points)
- Peice count is probably 25% flowers.

This was bought for my 7 year olds birthday. She loves this set especially all the little details that stay true to the movie. She loves that it includes Pascal, Flynn, Rapunzel, and the frying pan. Its not a huge set. We did not pay "full price" for the set, and I don't know that I think it's worth full price. The set does weather some play, but if the child is a rougher kind of child, it may not stay together as well. My 7 year old is very careful with her legos, but her 2 year old sister, not so much. Overall, my 7 year old is thrilled with the set.
