Loved this dress. Got it for my three-year-old grandddaughter who loves to play dress-up. The only problem was that the velcro fastener in the back was not reinforced and therefor came undone and ripped off the dress in the process.We will reattach it and reinforced the area in the back of the dress where it belongs.
A similar dress by another maker also ripped where the velcro fastener was.
They need to remember they are making these things for real children-- who run and play even when they are supposed to be acting like a princess.
Good pick for the dress-up craze, though. Very cute and lovely detail in the arms.

Is this from "Disney" or from "CDI"? I saw it two ways when I searched and both were not shown at the same time. Let me tell you something about Disney dresses. Disney licenses it's name to put on products. What is interesting is that CDI has the right to use the Disney name for this dress because it is a "toy/dress-up" and not a "costume". Disguise is a Halloween costume manufacturer and they have the EXCLUSIVE right to produce Disney Halloween costumes. However, every year around Halloween, The Disney Store offers costumes too. Because they did not need to "sell" the right to use the name (since they are the name), it doesn't disrupt the exclusivity.

When it comes to quality and value, here is my opinion on what is available. The VALUE of this dress by CDI (often sold in Target, Walmart or other stores but not in costume stores) is OUTSTANDING!!! The price is low and the dress is intended for repeated use. Although they don't put the same durability into it as a "real" dress, a real child can't reach around and velcro it anyway and don't care if the back is open. One word of caution, this dress is NOT a size 4-6. In most cases it is too small for even a 5 year old. I would simply call it a size 4.

Next, The Disney Store (not available through Amazon) costumes have OUTSTANDING QUALITY. The original retail price can often be high but they are constantly offering discounts and specials. If you can get more than 25% off, you are getting an incredible VALUE too. The best part is that you can choose an actual size.

The Disguise Halloween costumes available from costume stores and many vendors on Amazon are usually a poor value. It's not the fault of the vendor, they don't have a choice. Either the quality is awful or the price is outrageous, sometimes both. The Halloween costume industry believes that their costumes will be worn for one day - that's it. When it comes to 3 to 6 year olds, especially with the Disney Princesses, these costumes would be worn for more than a year if they would last. Here on Amazon it is often hard to tell because some costume companies have over stock for 2 or 3 years ago. So what looks to be 15 different costumes from hundreds of different companies are just the Standard, Deluxe & Prestige changing from year to year.Aurora Costume - Standard Aurora Costume Girl - Child Small 4-6 Deluxe Girls Aurora Costume

Little Adventures and Making Believe also sell "Sleeping Beauty" costumes but these are NOT Disney costumes. When I searched Disney Princess Costumes, I got a Little Adventures product that is being sold through Sacks and Such.Traditional Princess Dress-Up Set & Necklace, Medium (3-5)

The problem is the consumer doesn't always have a choice either. If you have a girl turning 5 years old in the summer, The Disney Store won't have her favorite princess costume and the CDI dress will be too small. Instead you have to break your bank account and buy a Disguise costume from any number of different costume companies so that you don't break that little girl's heart.
