VERY EASY TO PUT TOGETHER,
By
This review is from: Disney Cars McQueen Trike (Sports)
I was hesitant in buying this because of all the bad reviews on putting it together. This was the easiest thing I have ever put together!!! Literally took me 4-5 minutes and the directions are perfect - very easy to follow. There were only 5 short steps. Maybe the instructions have improved since the other reviews. I couldn't believe how easy it was. The product I did have a hard time with was the 12 inch Lightning McQueen Bike. Those instructions are awful and I didn't even use them. I just eyeballed it. Lora

Trike appears OK, assembly not any fun!,

I recently purchased the Disney Cars McQueen trike for my son's Christmas. It arrived from Amazon within a few days as usual, without a hitch, but there were several small scuff marks on the cycle. These won't be noticed by my boy, but better protection from the manufacturer could have avoided these. The box clearly lists the tools that "may" be required for assembly. Several listed were not needed, and some that were not listed were needed. Not a problem for folks with a good set of tools, but if all you have is a screwdriver, you'll be up a creek. The directions and photographs were not accurate. The general idea of the directions was correct, but precise, step-by-step instructions should be expected. The parts were not identified in the directions, there were about 8 washers in the package with no mention of them in the directions, and some fasteners in the photos were completely different in the package. Finally, the bolt holes in the real axle support frame were off by about 2-3mm. Doesn't sound like much, but when you are trying to get the metal frame to join perfectly and line up the connecting bolts, it's nearly impossible without re-milling the frame.
All in all, I think the trike will hold up fine and will be huge fun. It's Lightning McQueen, after all, and your boy loves him as much as mine, I'm sure. The only downside is that assembly was more frustrating than I expected. If you don't have to have "Cars," go with another trike. If you do, get this one, and get it early so you can get parts re-sent in time for Christmas if you need to. Be sure to block off an hour or so of quiet in your shop, too! Merry Christmas!!!

A birthday hit with my 3 year old great-grandson. Appears to be very well made. His mom (my grandaughter) assembled it. Her only comment was that the instructions were confusing and she ended up "winging it".

ASSEMBLY IS A WRECK!!!,
By
This review is from: Disney Cars McQueen Trike (Sports)
First of this trike is very well built. Worth the money. My complaints....... Instructions are alwful. They have a VERY small picture of
the parts. They don't give a name for the parts. So during assembly you have know idea what they're talking about. Here's the real shocker, the instructions have the real wheel assembly backwards from the picture of the bike. I just put them together according to the picture. The wheels have that small metal cap that fits over the metal axel. It came with an extra, I broke both trying to get them on. If anyone has a trick for putting those buggers on please share!!! The stickers on the seat, they were coming off when I got it out of the box. I called the company up and they said they are working on shipping them out with better instructions. I told her my difficulties and the parts I broke and the stickers on the seat were coming off and they are sending me out replacement parts tomorow.

Love the trike--it is so cute. My 2 yr old got it for his birthday and loves it. The instructions to put it together were not very good, but it's a trike, so it wasn't that hard to figure out. I would recommend this trike to any "Cars" fan!!

Lightweight and great! My 2.5-year-old daughter loves it.,

I bought this bike for my 2.5-year-old for Xmas. I needed a lightweight tricycle that was easy to carry to and from the park and one she could actually pedal. It is a joy to see her enjoying her trike at the park, pedaling for long distances. I'm close behind in case she topples over, since most trikes by nature are not stable. I have an older Kettler (built for stability), but I hate it because it's so heavy to lift and my daughter could never pedal it. So that's in the garage and she'll use it when she's older. We tried other tricycles at the toy store, but I didn't like any of them for a variety of reasons. Even the Dora counterpart (I did not want a darn Dora trike) was not as well designed as this one. This trike has thick, cushioned wheels and a comfortable, wide seat.
Graphics: I hate the Cars graphics. I hate that my daughter is a walking advertisement for a product. I don't care if the graphics are for Play-doh, Sesame St. or Dora. They should be paying me to advertise, not the other way around. Visit the Campaign for A Commercial Free-Childhood online for more information. Assembly: Assembling bikes is such a headache. I took the unopened box to the bike shop and let the pros assemble it for $15-20.

Disney Cars: McQueen Tricycle - review,
I have found the product to be adequate for the price. My two year old likes to ride it so it is getting used. I've noticed that the tires are wearing very quickly and would need to be the first parts to be replaced should I decide to keep the product for a significant amount of time. I believe my child will out grow it before that is necessary though.

I have 20 mo. old twin boys. I was given 2 different tricycles and each of my boys only wanted to ride the Disney McQueen trike so I had to purchace another one. This trike has two different sitting positions, has a wide wheel base for stability, and sits lower to the ground. My boys still can't use the pedels but love to use the trike as a ride on toy - It's a great trike for younger toddlers who want to ride early!

My son has been wanting a "big boy bike" for a while now. He sees all the other children in the neighborhood with one and it is now his turn.
The bike is the perfect size for him. He struggles a little bit with the pedals, but I am sure that would be the case for him with any tricycle. The only issue I had was that the tires are plastic. But what more can you really ask for for the price you pay. The bike looks great and he loves it.

For a two year old who is learning, this is perfect. He tries to use the pedals but it is not an easy concept for him yet. So he uses his feet to move most of the time. The best feature for him is the nook below the seat. He loves putting different things in the small space to take with him when he tries to ride.
