This doll comes with three accessories, i.e. Rapunzel's pet chameleon Pascal, a paint brush, and a hair brush. Rapunzel's hair is lustrous and beautiful, with shimmery highlights. The doll figure itself is poseable. The hair does take some effort to maintain, so younger children may not handle this very well (may need the assistance of an adult). Because the hair is so long, it can easily get 'tangled'. My daughter uses a spray bottle with water in it, to straighten out the hair each time this happens, and that seems to solve it. Pulling on the hair with a brush will only cause the hair to come off, so please be aware of this when giving the doll to a young child. My daughter loves to create stories of fantasy and magic (one recent play involved Rapunzel having a picnic with the Zoobles!). This is a beautiful Rapunzel doll which will engage any young child (ages three and up).
Plastic brushes tend to snag hair; that's why I only use a wire brush for dolls. They are sold more for dolls with wigs, but they are also great for rooted hair. You can get a nice one for about seven dollars right here on Amazon too.
It's also a good idea to start brushing sections of Rapunzel's hair from the bottom first and then work your way up. That way your doll's hair won't end up with frizzy ends. This also keeps the hair stronger since you won't be stretching it out by having to forcefully brush out so many knots towards the ends of the hair.
I have been handling my Rapunzel's hair like this ever since I got her and she has no tangles and only a few strands have fallen out. However, it's completely normal for some loose strands of hair to shed from a new doll so don't worry too much. In addition since I have long hair myself, I know from experience that it only seems like more is shedding because the length of the one hair that fell out is the length of three or four "normal" length hairs, if that makes sense.
Lastly, the reasoning behind my ratings: I love to play with hair so it's definitely a fun, fun doll, if nothing else girls can learn how to care for hair with Rapunzel, and, with the right handling, she is quite durable in my opinion. So, all in all, Rapunzel has earned five stars in every category as far as I'm concerned. :)
Thanks for reading my ramblings for this long! :D

The doll came on time and was good quality. Her hair is a bit of a mess, but with hair that long it's to be expected. It was very difficult getting her out of the box. Read morePublished on February 28, 2013 by Hate to complain but...
