Perfect size -- my preschooler loves it! Just wish it had a side pocket for his sippy cup.

I was specifically looking for a small backpack for my three-year-old to take to pre-school. I'm very happy with the size of the backpack, but the lunchbox is pretty small for holding a lunch. I hadn't stopped to think about it being proportional with the backpack and therefore scaled down a bit. I think a small lunchable or sandwich and a juicebox will fit, but that's it... no room for any extras or even a coldpack. My other concern was that the zipper doesn't go all the way around, so it doesn't flip open and stay open. Little fingers may have trouble getting lunch out of the bag. It's a great little backpack-- just don't plan any big lunches for the little lunchbox!

Four year old son loves it and takes it everywhere. Holds quite a few books and toys. Fits nicely on his back. We don't use to lunch bag for food except for maybe prepacked snacks or juice boxes that don't require refrigeration since it's not insulated. Wish the inside of backpack had a pocket for smaller items but still, it's a nice item that son enjoys.

I bought this for my nephew, who was just starting Pre-K. Before that he was kept by grandmother, so the transition was a little hard. The day the backpack arrived he told his mom he wasn't going to back to school. Once he received the backpack he would not take it off and the next morning he couldn't wait to go to school. Besides the fact that he loves it the bag is very durable and the perfect size for kid his age.

My son loves CARS and needed a new backpack. This backpack is the perfect size for a little guy with plenty of room. It would be nice if it had a pocket or two but still was happy with size and price. We don't use the detachable lunch box so I guess we could use that as a pocket but don't know how durabale that would be.
