Overall a great buy!
This game has everything a kid is looking for, comes with lots of fun in each stage, bunch of characters that are a classic and be part of their childhood and ours ;) and very interactive.
I didn't give an overall of 5 stars cause I feel the game too short (sorry if this is not a correct word), what I mean is that this game is as not as long as others, however my daughter plays it a lot.
If you have a kid in your house this is a must.
gladly, my insticts proved to be correct. when christmas was all said and done, he said this was his favorite game and he spent a solid ten hours playing during the couse of the week he was at my house.
for a six-year-old, it's a great game. true to disney form, it's got a great color pallet and a lot of the good old-fashioned disney charm. just as with litle big planet, he loved being able to customize his character (although the customizations are very, very limited) and had no problem replaying the limited number of levels that shipped with the game...which takes me to adult perspective.
i was a bit disappointed in the lack of overall content. the game ships with only six levels, among them "the lion king," "pirate of the carribean," "wall-e," "aladdin," and "alice in wonderland." granted each level, or set piece, is broken up into three parts, so technically you could say you're getting 18 levels. (at christmas DLC was already available in the form of "the nightmare before christmas"). the biggest disappointment to me was the fact that unlocking additional costumes requires replaying through an already completed level. if your kid loves the game, this isn't a problem at all. but as an adult, i found a bit tedious and a bit of a cop-out on the developers' part. it seems they're counting on replayability instead of original content, and then milking DLC (we can all thank the "call of duty" franchise for this phenomenon).Read more ›

I didn't go into my time with Disney Universe with high expectations. On the periphery, it seemed like a shallow children's game from a developer that has been making licensed... Read morePublished 6 months ago by Stuart Chandler
