I really like the fact that most of the crafts use common, everyday supplies.

I have made it somewhat of a mission of mine to have as many wonderful craft ideas for my child as possible, so I have accumulated quite the craft and activity book library. I was introduced to this book by my aunt who has raised four children and has always been a big crafter with her kids. I was so impressed I found I needed to own one myself. I really like the fact that most of the crafts use common, everyday supplies. The crafts are such that younger children can do them in a basic form, and older kids can elaborate on each one to reach their very highest creative potential. If you only own one craft book for your children, I sincerely think that this one is the very best to have.

This is the ONLY craft book you will ever need for your kids. It has crafts for every age. Even I found some neat things for myself (Section on Candlemaking and Dried and Pressed Flowers). A great find! Highly recommend it!

This is one great book. The spiral, hard-back cover is easy to handle. The ideas are realistic. I can do most of these crafts from things that are in my cabinets. They are great to do with my 3 year old or in the classroom. The crafts are categorized, making it simple to locate ideas for any occasion. We LOVE this book!

A long, cold winter lies ahead... a long, cold winter stuck indoors for weeks on end... a long, cold winter stuck indoors for weeks and weeks with bored and antsy children!
If this scenario sounds like your next few months, then Disney has just the book for you: Disney's FamilyFun Crafts. Created by Deanna F. Cook and the experts at FamilyFun Magazine, this book is crammed full of 500 fun, easy, and inexpensive ideas guaranteed to keep your little ones occupied for hours on end. From shadow silhouettes to egg carton critters to origami, parents will find activities for kids of all ages.

The craft ideas in this book are organized into chapters with similar themes. "Let's Color!" includes ideas using paint, crayons, pencils, and chalk. The chapter entitled "Likable Recyclables" provides uses for old cans, bottles, egg cartons, and milk jugs that are a lot more fun than simply tossing them into the recycle bin. "Gifts Kids Can Make" contains some great ideas that children can use to construct a special personalized present for a loved one this holiday season.

Each craft idea is presented in a familiar recipe-like fashion: a brief description, list of necessary materials, and instructions are furnished. The authors also provide parents with tips on how to "transform your home into a haven for artistic expression." That may sound tough, but it is easy as buying some oversize shirts for use as smocks, encouraging creativity, and stocking up on simple materials.

Disney's FamilyFun Crafts is the perfect anecdote for bored children on rainy or snowy days. It will not only help to keep the children happy and occupied, but may also preserve the sanity of mothers and fathers.

I borrowed this book from the library to see what crafts it had. I was so pleased with the variety and creativity of the crafts.
My 3 year old enjoys making things from the book as my 14 year old. And of course, I have a blast too.
I highly recommend this book. You don't need to be an expert crafter to do these crafts!

This is a fabulous book to have on the shelf. My daughter loves to do art projects, so now we have an endless supply of ideas for things to do at home. Now I don't have to say to myself "why can't I ever come up with things like that to do at home". Most importantly, the book has instructions that really explain how to do things so that they come out properly!!! EASY INSTRUCTIONS!!!

I work at a shelter for domestic violence victims including children. Many of these children have never had the opportunity to do crafts with a parent figure or go to school. Every time (and I mean every time), there was a craft class scheduled and we used something from this book in conjuction with a school lesson, the kids had a great time and learned something. They had, for the first time, something to give to their mothers for Christmas or Mother's Day.

The book is very easy to follow and I love the way it is divided up. If children who are learning challenged can do this, anyone can.

I wish I hadn't bought this book. It's a reminder for me to not judge a book by its flashy/attractive cover. The book is overwhelming and not as organized as I would have liked. I wish that it would say how long each activity takes and, far more importantly, difficulty/skill/recommended age levels. It really is taking too much time going through the book and having to reject so many of the activities because they are clearly not age-appropriate for my young children. This book is really geared for older children.
