My wife and I have been using DDR games to get our exercise for about six months now, and so decided to try this game. We enjoyed the first and third high school musicals so we thought it might be fun to do this. The gameplay is very different from DDR; instead of arrows progressing from bottom to top, the step 'bubbles' originate in the center of the screen and proceed toward the direction that you should step next. It was a little difficult to get used to, but still really fun. The two player mode is just wonderful because you can 'stop' the other persons steps when you build up enough energy. This makes it much more competitive than the DDR games where the the only competition is your score at the end.
Overall, if you like the music of all three High School Musicals and like to dance, this is a really good buy.

I purchased this item for my 5 year old daughter and she loves it. The game is good for her to play on the beginner level. I know we can increase the difficulty levels as time progresses. I like that many cast and characters appear on the screen during the dance routines. We also own Disney Dance Dance Revolution, but my wife, daughter, and myself like the High School Musical game better. High School Muscial 3 assigns letter grades to performances which is easy to understand. The other one assigns points that are not always easy to understand. The voice/commentator on Disney Dance Dance Revolution tends to criticize your performance, which isn't as much fun for a 5 year old. Older kids are probably better suited for that game.

It is without hesitation that I recommend this game for families with young children.

Oh my goodness...It is not as easy as I thought it would be but it absolutely fun and addictive. It has a plus also you are getting exercise while having fun. it is best to have 2 mats so you can go up against someone else. Love this and so do my daughters..

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. I paid less than $15 (with the mat) and didn't expect much from it. Boy, was I wrong! We hooked it up (super easy) and she skipped the tutorial and went right to the dancing. We had to read everything for her which wasn't a big deal. Even though she cannot read yet she was quickly able to navigate through the menu.
The steps come from the center of the screen and move in the direction you are supposed to step, which seems much easier than them scrolling up from the bottom like I've seen in the DDR games. She picked up on it right away. All of the songs are from the High School Musical Movie and even my 8 year old son got into it (Okay, so did mom and dad!!!)!
This game is perfect for the whole family and I would recommend this for ages 4 (older 4s) and up. It has really increased our bonding time and physical activity. I can't wait to pick up another dance mat so we can start playing with 2 players. I'm just not sure I can get any ps2 mat.

My 5 year old daughter loves HSM and really likes this game and dance pad. It has been fun for our whole family to play and it is good exercise too.

This is a lot of fun. We have 2 mats. Hours of fun!

Fun game. My daughter loved it and it has songs from High School Musicals 1,2,3.

First one I bought this was when is was $17.xx. I thought that was good deal for both game and dance pad, and second one I bought it was $11.xx.

And now it's under $10!!!!

- Dance pad is high quality. Just like Konami official dance pad.

- For old DDR gamers can get confused. but not that bad.


I like the game itself as a DDR player. If you looking for short time fun game, this is the right game. get it now!

This game is a pretty good game. I brought this game for my little sister and she loves it and plays this game everyday! The game features all of the main characters from the movies and the songs as well!
