Disney's The Lion King: Interactive My Singin' Simba

My 4-year-old daughter received this for Christmas. She loved it - she had been asking for it for about 2 months. It broke after one week. It wouldn't sing or dance, even after installing fresh batteries. We had a gift receipt, so we took it back to Toys R Us & exchanged it. The second one broke after only a few days. My daughter is not unusally rough with it, so there isn't anything we're doing to make it break. I e-mailed Disney to just see if there were any known issues with this product, like defects, etc. Their response was that they couldn't help me in any way because it was purchased from a 3rd party. I went back to Toys R Us again to exchange it for the second time and believe it or not, it broke in the car on the drive home. I even tried to change the batteries & reset it by turning it off & on again, but nothing worked. I cannot believe how poorly this toy is manufactured. I have never been so dissatisfied with a toy.

My 4 yr old son received this item for Christmas last year and was thrilled, he absolutely loved it, that is until it just quit working after one week. We tried replacing the batteries, etc., and could not get it to work again. Now he just has a "hard" stuffed animal. I probably should have taken it back, but since I had ordered it online, I was unsure if I would have problems. My son was very disappointed,as he wanted this toy badly. Since the price has dratically dropped, I debated getting him another one, but after a review from another consumer, I am hesitant.

Maybe Disney ought to rethink and get involved with their defective toys. It doesn't matter where it was purchased, it comes from Disney.

My daughter got Simba for her 3rd birthday. She asked for him and is pretty happy with him. However, he says only 6 things and seems to respond to your answers, but after a while even my three year old got bored and only muttered the same answers to his same questions. She actually asked us to turn him off and plays with him like a stuffed animal instead of an interactive toy. She does play with him, though. He just did not meet our expectations.

I bouth this for my two year old daughter-----my only complaint would be that the portion of the ear that you press to make it start is small and it takes her a few minutes pressing the whole ear to actually find the spot that makes it start working.

We purchased this for our daughter's fourth birthday -- it was something she specifically wanted. It did not disappoint her, she is still playing with "Simba" two weeks after her birthday. Her other toys were interesting the first few days, but she keeps coming back to "Simba". "Simba" has even gone to show-n-tell at her pre-school.

After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned my daughter's newest favorite toy might turn out to be a major disappointment. She got it as a Christmas gift from a friend and fell in love with it instantly but she does play rough sometimes so I was a bit worried he might break.

But - knock on wood - Simba is still cheerfully dancing and singing after being played with every single day since Christmas. Of course this means I now cringe every time I hear "Hakuna Matata" because I like to hear this song every now and then but not 30+ times a day but on the other hand my 3 year old doesn't seem to get enough and it makes her happy.

She even figured out how to switch him from singing to dancing mode and can do that now without my help.

On the down side Simba IS rather hard and not at all cuddly although his fur is very soft to the touch. Also I find him quite heavy for a 3 year old.

Finally, only time will tell if Simba will continue to work after being dragged along by his ears and tail and dancing for hours. Maybe we got lucky and got a sturdy one, maybe he will eventually break down but until then he'll be my little one's favorite and that alone is worth a four star overall rating.

My grandaughter has one and I am now buying a second one its a great toy and it is tru that it is kind of heavy for a 2 or 3 year old but our first one is still working after 2 years. And both my grandaughter and her 3 year old brother love it.

My 4-1/2 year old son is a big Simba fan, and loves the songs Hakuna Matata and I Just Can't Wait to be King, so when I saw this toy, I knew that he would love it. I was leery to purchase it when I read the other reviews about the sturdiness of the toy, but bought it anyway as a Christmas present. My son loved it and played with it constantly for a couple weeks. He still plays with it a few times a week, but not as much as before. It is pretty sturdy as it has been dropped on the floor a few times, and it is quite heavy and hard.

Lion King (Singing Simba) is a really enjoyable toy that your child will enjoy playing with over and over again. He's simply a delight that I even enjoy playing with. I highly recommend this singing Simba, my 3 year old son just loves to hear Simba singing the lion king song. It's makes a perfect Christmas gift for children 4 and under.
