5.0 out of 5 stars Little Einstein's-- They've got my kids yelling 'Alegro'
If you are not familiar with the Little Einstein series, you really should take a look. Not like alot of Disney's other banal TV productions, this show really has merits.

I mean how can you not like a show that has your children yelling staccato and legato, adagio and allegro. And knowing what these terms mean!

3.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for the Bats
My daughter has always been a big fan of Baby Einstein. We were excited to see Little Einsteins come out as we knew our daughter was outgrowing the Baby Einstein videos as she is now 2 1/2. The first time she watched Little Einsteins, she really enjoyed it. I was suprised to see how they had the kids react to the bats. I knew the first time I saw the kids running from...

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Einstein's-- They've got my kids yelling 'Alegro', November 18, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
If you are not familiar with the Little Einstein series, you really should take a look. Not like alot of Disney's other banal TV productions, this show really has merits.

I mean how can you not like a show that has your children yelling staccato and legato, adagio and allegro. And knowing what these terms mean!

Children are taught that music has `layers' and that the musical `themes' can be representative of a particular character or action. For example, a crescendo may help the sun rise, or a wave get bigger.

In addition, children are introduced to fine art, architecture, and landmarks from around the world. Examples (not necessarily from this video) include works from Gaughan, Monet, the Seattle Space Needle, the Great Sphynx, Antartica, the Great Wall of China....

Five Stars. A wonderful introduction to fine art and classical music that 'sticks' with young children. The stories combine fun, kid adventures and elements of music and art in a way that seems very natural and memorable.

Plot for this video:
For their first mission, Annie, Leo, Quincy, June and Rocket help a little caterpillar become a beautiful Monarch butterfly.

Music: Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Artist: Van Gogh, Monet, Hokusai
Real-world destinations: New York City, Oklahoma, and Texas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!! Make more pleeeease!, December 17, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
No need for me to repeat what others have said. If your babies love the Baby Einstein series and have outgrown it then they will love this. My 2 y.o. daughter loooooved the Einstein videos and now she loves this. She adores the show and screams when she can't watch it. It is so wonderful how they introduce a composer and artist of the day. This is truly an educational show in a more genuine way than many of the others that claim to be. Unfortunately this is the one and only Little Einsteins available for sale. My daughter has watched it already 20 times at least. The tv show comes on twice a day here but I think we've seen all of them. I was dissappointed they did not have any Little Einstein toys or videos out for Christmas as it is what my daughter wants the most!

4.0 out of 5 stars Just as great as orinigal Baby Einstein, October 27, 2005

My 15 month old is a huge fan of the whole Baby Einstein series, and loves all the DVD's and musical CD's that he's been watching since he was a few months old. Little Einsteins is a great transition for toddlers. It's playful and fun, but is also educational and continues the BE classical music and art theme. The talking and interaction with the watcher is also great, and more advanced than the original BE videos. If your child is an Einstein fan, or you want to get your older kid into a great education cartoon - this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Einsteins is Excellent!, August 11, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
I received a preview CD with another CD that I purchased. My son (2 1/2) loved the Baby Einstein videos when he was an infant and loves music as a result. He patted, clapped and put his hands in the air along with the Little Einstein kids. It teaches about musical instruments, concepts, rhythm and beats and various places in the world (New York, Paris, etc.). I am so glad that Disney created an extension to the Baby Einstein series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Based on the Preview DVD, August 11, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
I received the preview DVD with another Little Einstein set. I put this in for my 12 month old to watch. He was engrossed for the entirety of the film and laughed many times!

This film blends animation, orchestra, art and real-life scenes so wonderfully! The music isn't midi like the others but is a full orchestra set of some of the great classical characters. The scenes merge into reproductions of wonderful actors. The merging between animation and real life is done beautifully and artistically while adding to the fun. The characters are colorful and full of life.

This really does look like it will be better than ANY of the Little Einstein DVDs! I predict that soon Leo will be as popular as Dora as preschoolers will love this series just as much as toddlers! Oh yeah... it wasn't annoying to me at all!! I actually enjoyed watching the entire thing and was wow'ed many times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Baby Einstein Grads!, September 8, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
My 4 year old son loved the Baby Einstein series as a baby, but now as a preschooler this movie is a giant hit! Not only does it teach about nature and music, it teaches vocabulary and friendship while slipping between an animated and real world setting. His preschool teacher asked me if he had been taking music lessons, because he was telling his classmates about half and whole notes, adagios, allegros and crescendos! He was also fascinated by the metamorphosis of the caterpillar into a butterfly...I can't wait for the next one already!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Education & Fun!!!! We love it!!!!, August 24, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
We just bought this for our almost 3 yr old daughter and just adore it. She has been absolutely glued to the screen and singing and dancing along. I love when fun and educational value combine! Too many "new" cartoons are too rapid with the action, this one is more cerebral than the norms, but a lot of fun and not nearly as irritating to parents. Nice soothing music and lovely visuals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and educational, August 22, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
I saw an advance copy of this DVD and was really impressed with how beautifully and cleverly the creators integrated great art and great music in a fun and engaging way. A preschooler will be riveted by the characters and the rocket ship but end up the hour having an idea of what Beethoven's Ode to Joy sounds like and what Van Gogh's painting style looks like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Einsteins are an outstanding tool for music education, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (DVD)
As someone getting their degree in music education I cannot recommend the Little Einsteins enough. The show is one of a kind, and does an excellent job preparing young children for musical study. The show familiarizes children with the musical language (i.e. Crescendo, diminuendo, andante, adagio) in very simple basic terms. Knowledge of this musical language as an adult is essential in the world of professional musicianship, and I think it is outstanding that there is a television program out there that teaches these things to toddlers. We all know the importance of art in our schools, and shows like little einsteins will only serve to help our children become brighter, more intelligent, and more cultured adults.

We picked up this DVD for our 2¾ year old son; he LOVES it!! Sure, he'll sit and watch Dora, JoJo and even the Doodlebops, but that's all he does; sit and watch. Little Einsteins is the first show that our son has ever interacted with in anyway. He loves to help the kids and Rocket "wast aw!" and he's been running around the house humming and da-daing "Ode to Joy" since we first played the DVD for him! Leo, June, Quincy, Annie and Rocket are a winning team in our book!! We can't wait for the series to start in October!
