A Big Hit!, September 23, 2006
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins: Mission Color Discovery (Hardcover)
My daughter (now 2 years old) has loved this show since it started airing a year ago; it's the only show she likes to watch. I bought her this book thinking it would be something she would enjoy sometime down the road when she was older when she could appreciate all the reading in the book.
She found it when I brought it home and hasn't stopped looking at it since. She looks at the pictures, points things out, and has learned a LOT from it. She can now show me where things are on the page when I ask her, such as the fish, flower, camel, ladybug, and all the characters by name.
So even thought this book is aimed at readers, non-reading toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy it just as much! It's a fantastic, colorful, fun book and a great educational tool.
As for the Rocket magnifying glass attachment, it hasn't posed a problem for us, but I can see where some kids might become frustrated by it getting in the way, or whatnot. It doesn't really serve it's purpose very well anyway, so I would just cut it off. Ours is still attached but it usually just hangs when we page through the book together and she usually leaves it alone.

Story is fine but book quality is pretty lame, September 5, 2006
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins: Mission Color Discovery (Hardcover)
I purchased two Little Einsteins books as soon as they came available (Mission: Where's June and Mission: Color Discoveries). My girls love the show and they love the books...maybe too much. After reading them only a couple of times, pages started coming out. Stories are cute but these books won't last much beyond a month or two!

Cute book, poor quality!, May 17, 2007
This review is from: Disney's Little Einsteins: Mission Color Discovery (Hardcover)
I agree with the other reviewer who enjoyed this book but felt it was poorly constructed. My two year old son LOVES the Little Einsteins and since I've had trouble finding toys/ products with their images, I was excited to discover this book. He does love the rocket magnifier that came with the book, I might detatch it just so he can play with it. He is very active but has never destroyed a book before. After only three days of playing with this book, the binding in the middle is coming apart so some of the pages are almost hanging out of the book already. It is a cute book and good concept, but for your money you are better off buying a Little Einstein board book (such as the Birthday Machine) or another hardback (such as Music of the Meadow or Butterfly Suits). We also purchased those and they are well-made. The hardbound ones such as the above mentioned two also have a Little Einstein sticker sheet in the back of each book. It's a better value for your money.
