5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting Broadway Style Musical at Radio City!, October 31, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall (VHS Tape)
In the tradition of Broadway's "Beauty and the Beast," "Lion King," "Aida," California Disney's "Aladdin" and the upcoming "Tarzan" and "Little Mermaid" comes this enchanting performance of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

This video is soooo much fun to watch! Mary Jo Salerno's golden tones and bird like high notes makes a perfect Snow White. She has the innocense, voice and stage presence to portray Disney's first heroine. Anne Francine is a sinister Evil Queen. Very Patti LuPone, Norma Desmondish. The Wicked Witch is bizarre, over the top and scary, performed by an uncredited actor. Prince Charming, played by Richard Browne, has an amazing Baritone voice, but once again, he only has the first and last scene of the show.

The Seven Dwarfs are sensational. Seven acrobatic and comedic men performing their hearts out backed up by a colorful ensemble of dancing animals and kingdom folk.

All the songs from the Movie are there. "I'm Wishing / One Song," "With A Smile and a Song," "Whistle While You Work," "Heigh-Ho," "Silly Song," "Some Day My Prince Will Come" and Two new sogs written for the Musical. The Musical is slightly different from the Musical in that it has Snow White's father and it tells how she became a servant to the Evil Queen.

If you have a chance to get this video, do so! It's EXTREMELY rare and worth every cent! If you like Broadway shows, Disney Broadway Shows, this is DEFINITELY for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars The magic of live theatre--makes it the best one to own., August 21, 2005
This review is from: Disney's Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall (VHS Tape)
Detail care was taken with this production. The production numbers added for the stage are amazing. The cast is perfect. Never will you see the old Queen, Anne Francine, acted like this one does the role. The beautiful Mary Jo Salerno in the title role is so special. The organic quality of a live stage performance makes this story involve you as never before. The death scene and the kiss that returns Snow White to life is touching. Then follows the greatest grand finale to finish the story. Breath taking and worth every penny spent to own this VHS. Grab it!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Splendid stage version!, May 22, 2011
This review is from: Disney's Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall (VHS Tape)
This stage verison of the classical Disney version of "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs" was shown at Radio Cit Music Hall in New York City in 1980. I've seen it a couple of times on YouTube (one of them being the scene of the Dwarfs chasing the Evil Queen where they trpa her on the cliff and she falls to her death from the cliffside) Excellent!

P.S. The scene of the Dwarfs chasing the Queen/the Queen meeting her deathly fate as well is the most brilliant entertaining part of the story!

I seen that Amazon.com is out of copies of it but I hope that they'll get more copies very soon! I want to see Radio City Music Hall's stage production of "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs" on a vdieo copy!

Notify me when more copies come into Amazon.com!

I used to have this play on VHS when i was a child about 10y old (now I'm 38y old), I looked for the play on DVD & I failed, when i found it on VHS it was tooooo expencive, I even looked in other web sites, trying to find this play with a resnable price. But price did never become resnable & items are even becomming more rare.

Therefore i bought this item (expencive) but I AM soooo happy to ouwn it again, clear, as discribed by the seller (as a privious rental coppy), in a vary good condition bothe the box & the tape, and it was deliverd in a timely matter.

It is such a joyfull play for the whole family. The way how the Disney cartoon was translated to stage is outstanding. And the best part of the play is when Snow White is about to bite into the posined apple, the children's reaction in that moment is priceless. It is a play for children of all ages including us adults.

My thanks to the seller for proving such joy to families.

5.0 out of 5 stars truly an amazing piece of art from lost childhood memories, September 22, 2009
This review is from: Disney's Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall (VHS Tape)
I recently had some flashbacks of some frightening scenes from films i had seen when i was only about 5 or 6. Things would scare me enough to the point i would block out the entire experience. I remembered the old hag witch scene with the apple and the giant green face mirror which I later found out was played by the same guy...Charles Hall is his name. Anne Francine and him steal the show, but Mary Jo Salerno and Browne truly made it special. At age 5 or 6 that witch part was a little too much especially when the crazy Anne Francine kept getting crazier and crazier with her eyes and her speech. there are only two other movies that had the same affect on me and they were alot easier to find. "Return to Oz" was very creepy and depressing for a child...and "The Watcher in the Woods" was totally off the hook. Keep in mind all three of these are Disney so that's how young mind's became exposed to such material. I feel very lucky to have been a child growing up in the early to mid 80's when Disney was experimenting. and experiment they did! i believe they got into some trouble back then for going that odd direction with their films...but all of those frightening and joyful memories have gone into my creativity and imagination today. I'm a musician and i'm deeply influenced by those days in my childhood.

I grew up with one version of Snow White. I knew no other Snow White but Mary Jo Salerno. I recently purchased this video solely for the promised enjoyment for my future children. If you ever get the chance to experience this family fun film, take the time out of your day to fall in love all over again with the sweetest princess ever.
