4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet book!, April 18, 2002
This review is from: Disney's Winnie the Pooh: Feelings (Learn & Grow) (Board book)
Accompany Pooh and his friends from the Hundred-Acre-Wood on a tour of emotions. "Shh . . . Sometimes Piglet feels SHY when his friends are being noisy. Oh, no! Roo gets SCARED when he sees the shadows on his bedroom wall." This is a sweet little board book with simple illustrations for easy comprehension.

Feelings, is not my favorite in the Learn and Grow Board Book series, as I prefer the rhythmic cadence of Lisa Ann Marsoli's, 123 and ABC's, and Andrea Doering's, Colors, nonetheless the images are charming and the content is clear. Birth and up.

This review is from: Disney's Winnie the Pooh: Feelings (Learn & Grow) (Board book)
This book is not only great for those who enjoy Disney (or Pooh), but it's an excellent book to use to begin teaching to your child about feelings. It's so important for them to learn at a young age what their feelings are, and this book does a great job talking about them. Each feeling described in the book is shown in the picture beside it. Those children who are familiar with the cast of Pooh will be able to understand more what they are feeling. For example, it says, "Eeyore is gloomy- because that's just the way he is." Next to it, it shows a picture of Eeyore under a rain cloud with his tail falling off. Overall, I think this book is a must for those parents wanting to teach feelings to their child.

4.0 out of 5 stars small but useful book to illustrate feelings, March 3, 2010
This review is from: Disney's Winnie the Pooh: Feelings (Learn & Grow) (Board book)
Parents are still the best way for children to learn about feelings, yet a familiar book can be a helpful aide.

This covers a range of emotions that most young children are familiar with:

cheerful

silly

shy

scared

grumpy

gloomy

puzzled

excited

loved

Not illustrated by E. H. Shepard, but is any Pooh material these days? Attractive paintings nonetheless.

This is a much better choice than Curious George's Are You Curious?, which is overly negative.
