This review is from: DISOBEDIENCE. (Hardcover)
I think Jane Hamilton is an amazing writer - I loved Map of the World and Book of Ruth. I know some people have issues with disturbing stories but I actually like them and respect a well-told story. I don't need there to be a happy, hollywood ending - really, ever. Which is what I like about Hamilton, she writes about real people - real tragic stories and we get to know the characters so well.I liked the characters in this story but the story was really centered on insignificance. I kept reading only because I was sure there must have been more to the story, SOMETHING more to understand why Henry was so distraught! |
