Book Description

Watching mighty fireworks boom above Sleeping Beauty Castle, sailing down the Mississippi river aboard a powerful sternwheeler, or strolling along Main Street U.S.A. while sweet nostalgia licks at your periphery, these are a few of the magical moments you might create on your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. Dispatch From Disneyland is a collection of stories, essays, and interesting facts written for those who love Walt Disney's original theme park, but don't have the good fortune of visiting the park on a regular basis.

Inspired by the park that Walt built, Dispatch from Disneyland takes readers on a "you are there" emotional journey to Disneyland via the power of story. Each "dispatch" is meant to bring the reader to a place that reminds them of the magic they feel when at the park themselves.

Also included are a collection of essays and interesting facts that help make Disneyland the number one destination for Disney fans around the globe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Disneyland Fans March 20, 2014
Format:Paperback
I've been a fan of John's blog for years so I was excited to see he released a collection of his writings in book form. John has a clear love and appreciation for "Walt's Park" and his descriptions really make you feel like you're there, in the middle of all the action. Some of his essays will surprise you, teach you something new, or pull on your heart strings. Each one is a short read (2-3 pages) so you can read a lot or a little, depending on how much Disney magic you need at that moment. Highly recommended for Disneyland aficionados like myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a different kind of Disney book April 11, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's a collection of blog entries from the author writes so it is kind of scattered over different topics and doesn't seem to be in any order that I can see. It's kind of hard to follow but once you get around that, it's a fun read about things going on behind the scenes at Disney Theme Parks.

I've been enjoying John's writings for years online and am excited he has decided share his talent in book form. Dispatch from Disneyland is a refreshing respite from the challenges of the day - perhaps chicken soup for a Disney soul. John beautifully captures the types of experiences that make Disneyland such a special place, a place where memories that last a lifetime are created.

4.0 out of 5 stars For Fans of Disney Parks March 17, 2014
By Chris
Format:Paperback
Dispatch from Disneyland is written like no other Disney book I've read. In a collection of short, fictional stories, John Frost engages Walt's park - its lands in general and specific attractions - as if the stories they tell are real.

You're not just walking through Tarzan's Treehouse (or, as my wife likes to call it, "The Queue That Doesn't Lead To A Ride"), you are interacting with Tarzan, Jane and the rest of the characters. You are in the treehouse's story.

The line between reality and imagination are blurred in such a way that, as a storyteller, I really love. The stories of the parks are one of the main reasons I go every year and Dispatch from Disneyland allows me to become a part of those stories in a way that no POV video on YouTube can.

If you love Disney Parks, especially the original park, this is great read
