I've been a fan of John's blog for years so I was excited to see he released a collection of his writings in book form. John has a clear love and appreciation for "Walt's Park" and his descriptions really make you feel like you're there, in the middle of all the action. Some of his essays will surprise you, teach you something new, or pull on your heart strings. Each one is a short read (2-3 pages) so you can read a lot or a little, depending on how much Disney magic you need at that moment. Highly recommended for Disneyland aficionados like myself.

In this slender volume, the author collects 27 short essays (2-4 pages in length) that he had previously published on a Disneyland fan website I suggest that they are best read one or two at time, though a determined reader could easily finish the book in an evening. The pieces run the gamut from slice of life stories to conjecture on what Disneyland might be like in the future. My criticisms are few: the book might have benefited from a closer editorial perusal--there are several syntax and style errors, and Mr Frost perhaps overuses writing in the second person. The essays, while sometimes a bit overwritten, are evocative and earnest, aimed directly at the fan of Walt Disney's unique theme park. As one such reader, I can appreciate what the author has done here.

It's a collection of blog entries from the author writes so it is kind of scattered over different topics and doesn't seem to be in any order that I can see. It's kind of hard to follow but once you get around that, it's a fun read about things going on behind the scenes at Disney Theme Parks.

I am a fanatical Disney fan but thought this book was OK. The stories were solid but did not stand out for me personally..

I've been enjoying John's writings for years online and am excited he has decided share his talent in book form. Dispatch from Disneyland is a refreshing respite from the challenges of the day - perhaps chicken soup for a Disney soul. John beautifully captures the types of experiences that make Disneyland such a special place, a place where memories that last a lifetime are created.

I have read John's The Disney Blog for years and this book has the same attention to detail and great writing as the blog. This book is a must for Disney fans who want to remember their trips or put a new spin on their next trip.
