Clean Hands At Last!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Disposable Food Preparation Gloves - Box of 500 (Kitchen)
My family loves meatloaf and homemade meat balls. I hated mixing all the fixings together by hand since the mix always gets under the fingernails and is really messy between the fingers and on the hands. I've used other brands of food prep gloves but usually before I was finished mixing something, the finger ends had split open. So far, none of these have. And no, I don't have long nails. I was hesitant about ordering from a third party vendor but since amazon.com states they stand behind third party sales, I ordered a box. Shipment was effected quickly and as stated above, product has been more than satisfactory so far. Price was pretty good too. Works for me.

I cook a lot of different foods from a lot of different cuisines. One thing that has been a nightmare for me is working with peppers. In the past when working with Sichuan dried, poblano, jalapeno or habanero peppers, I would seriously hurt my eyes later at night while taking off my contact lenses. Regardless of multiple washings of the hands, the oil would still be there. Imagine that sensation all over again when you put the contacts back in in the morning. Well these gloves have saved the day for me. I can deseed any pepper I want now thanks to these gloves and not worry about burning the crap out of my eyes when taking out my contacts. This is the only use I have for these gloves and really the only real reason I purchased them. They have been a lifesaver and I can go back to making those dishes with the heat that I so enjoy.

Harmful germs and bacteria can cause sickness and disease so I try to avoid contaminating my hands, these disposable gloves are a real time saver and they have so many common every day uses around the house. Use them in the kitchen to prepare food or taking out the garbage and for cleaning the bath. They're also useful for hugging grand ma ^_^
They are expensive on Amazon considering I purchased two boxes of the same exact disposable gloves at a local Sam's club for a total of $4.95...

These are great for many reasons. I was buying the more expensive latex gloves and going through them too fast for the price.
These are great because you get a huge box and I use them for tons of daily uses. Coloring your hair, Applying ben-gay to your back, picking up trash in the yard etc. Also in the winter my hands crack and I put vasoline on my hands. I can put the gloves on while I sleep to keep the mess off of everything

life saver,
This review is from: Disposable Food Preparation Gloves - Box of 500 (Kitchen)
These were just what you expected. With a broken wrist I can't wash my hands so can't get food all over them. I couldn't really cook till I found these. They are not available in stores but very handy!

Used the gloves mostly for laundry and cleaning. I noticed that my hands would get wet so I filled the gloves with water and as expected there is a tiny hole where the water would leak. I say about 2% of the gloves are defective. Which is disappointing.

I can peel potatoes again!,

I'm horribly allergic to raw potatoes. My hands break out in hives and itch like crazy for hours if they come into contact with raw potato juices. These gloves protect my hands wonderfully, and I love that there are so many included in the box. Now I can make all my favorite potato dishes again. Waahoo!

These are exactly as described. I use them in my home kitchen, because I hate handling raw meat. These make trimming fat & making meatloaf a breeze, and I don't have to wash my hands a million times! I also use these when handling onions, because it keeps my fingers from picking up that onion odor that WON'T wash off. I'm glad I bought these, and plan on buying them for several ladies I know for kitchen use, too!

WAY too large,

I purchased these food prep gloves primarily for handling raw meat, and I am very disappointed in them. I am an average-sized woman, and the gloves are ENORMOUS. They must be designed either for enormous men or for women with VERY long fingernails, because the glove fingers are at least an inch too long. They bunch up and gather at the ends of my hands when I'm trying to prepare food. I have to be very cautious when I'm cutting food while wearing these gloves because the glove fingers get caught in the meat and sometimes in my knife blade (I have accidentally sliced off the glove fingertip on several occasion, which resulted in having to get a new pair from the package).
All in all, these gloves are too uncomfortable and awkward for me to use. If you have extremely large hands, they might work for you, but for me they were a complete waste of money.

Not What I Had Expected At All,

In the not too distant past I had purchased disposable gloves for food handling from Amazon, and I was completely satisfied. That particular brand, which was distributed by Clean Ones Corporation, had indicated on the box that indeed the gloves were approved for food handling by the FDA, ("Complies with FDA Reg. 177.1520)! Plus on the box in large print it stated that the disposables were made from "High-Density Polyethylene".
Such is not the case with this brand. It advertises on Amazon that the gloves are disposable for food handling, however, when the item arrived it said "disposable multipurpose". There is no indication that these gloves are safe for food handling or that they are made from high density polyethylene. When I tried one of them on it felt the same as an ordinary plastic glove---one that would be OK for handling trash---or any non food item--- but not for use with the handling of food! I was very annoyed by this and felt that the manufacturer and/or seller have insulted the consumer's intelligence by selling ordinary plastic gloves to be the same as those approved for food handling! Do consumers need yet another form of toxin in their foods? Since I opened one box I will use these gloves for chores, but that is not why I purchased the product. Now I have to be bothered with the return of the second box. I will not purchase any other product from this manufacturer again. Their ploy reminds me of the old "bait and switch" game. What a waste of time and money! |
