This book has been re-published in a revised second edition entitled Disproving Christianity and Other Secular Writings, available here: http://www.amazon.com/Disproving-Christianity-Secular-Writings-revised/dp/0956427685/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1320376164&sr=8-5 "This book is an attempt to compile popular and unknown arguments against the principles of the Christian canon. Christianity has become separated into many smaller sects, but retains some constant biblical tenets and divine ideas- it is these similarities that are crucial if my thesis is to be considered a 'disproval'. Using essays and biblical analysis, I discuss some of the contradictory and controversial passages from the Hebrew Scriptures (which Christians refer to as the "Old Testament") and the New Testament, along with modern practices, beliefs, and teachings of twenty-first century Christianity in an attempt to make known the discrepancies which have largely been ignored within the Christian Church- especially Western Society." - David G. McAfee From the back cover: "David G. McAfee introduces his first book- an introductory look into the world of Christianity and the refutation of its key principles. Using (almost exclusively) evidence and passages from the Christian Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, David is able to establish new arguments against the validity of the Christian religion as well as reorganize and reevaluate some of the more traditional debates. Through a close-reading of the Sacred Texts and years of studying the Christian theology from a secular viewpoint, David G. McAfee is able to approach the refutation of Christianity from a reasonable and logical perspective. From contradictions in the Holy Bible, to issues in modern Christian teachings, to problems with the founding pillars of Christianity itself, Mr. McAfee- in this book- is able to successfully Disprove Christianity."

David Gregory McAfee (February 23, 1989) -- known as David G. McAfee -- is an American author, journalist and religious studies scholar. Born in Roseville, California, on February 23, 1989, David Gregory McAfee moved to Santa Barbara, CA at the age of eighteen in order to pursue multiple degrees, in English and Religious Studies, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating with two BAs, McAfee republished his first book under the new title, Disproving Christianity and Other Secular Writings. In December 2012, McAfee published Mom, Dad, I'm an Atheist: The Guide to Coming Out as a Non-Believer.
McAfee is an outspoken atheist who opposes biblical literalism. He is a columnist for Canadian Freethinker Magazine and a contributor to American Atheist Magazine. As a result of his atheist activism, he was rejected by a public university from entering its religious studies graduate program. His first published book, Disproving Christianity and Other Secular Writings, is a critique of biblical literalism. McAfee's newest title, Mom, Dad, I'm an Atheist, is a guide to living as an atheist in a society that's largely intolerant of disbelief.
This is a must read! The author includes various methods of disproval, both philosophically and scientifically, that are easy to understand and very helpful in understanding biblical contradictions and little known discrepancies within the Old and New Testaments. I loved the book and have recommended it to my friends and family; it serves as a pocket guide for arguments against Christianity and the other Abrahamic religions. From the existence of God, to the paradox of the Christian heaven, this book contains the answers to some of the most asked questions about Christianity- and some very interesting Bible passages that your Sunday school teacher left out of their service.
This is a short but sweet plunge into the study of biblical contradictions and biblical prophesies that never panned out. The book sets out to dismantle Christianity at its source - an archaic ancient book. The author examines many quotes from the "good book" which are intentionally omitted at churches and Sunday schools around the world. I found Christianity to be of significant entertainment value, even laughable, when objectively examined at face value, so I give Disproving Christianity two thumbs up.
This book was amazing... Much easier to read than most books of this nature and I learned a lot about Christian history and problems within the Bible. I love how the writer is able to bring to light some of the most outrageous and absurd passages of the Sacred Scriptures and disprove Christianity using little more than its own texts. It is a short and sweet book that I'd recommend to any Christian, agnostic, atheist, or anybody else on a quest to learn about the pitfalls of the Christian tradition.
