Ok, so this album came out near the tailend of the real big-haired, screaming 80's bands (you know who you are), but this one has really stood the test of time. 3.0 out of 5 stars Wait for You in the best one on here.
I had this on tape back in the day. I loved the song Wait for You. I remember rewinding my cassette so many times to hear this song over and over. It's still an exceptional song today. The rest of the album (to me) was rather forgettable.

Ok, so this album came out near the tailend of the real big-haired, screaming 80's bands (you know who you are), but this one has really stood the test of time. I broke the CD out after letting it sit for at least a couple of years and was reminded of how good a drummer Jason Bonham is. He turns beats inside out, drives forward with a thundering backbeat and uses very tasteful fills throughout.

Get this if you want to hear some wonderful rock drumming done with style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Of course it has a huge Zeppelin vibe, May 25, 2006

The bands name and the person who started this project is John Bonham's son, his legacy for gods sake. The music is great and it does have originality. Why would you insult that, or that he was trying to get rich and steal his father's style. He grew up with it and it is in his viens. I feel John would be proud. I love "Wait for You" and know many others who do as well. And let's not forget to give credit to the rest of the band and Daniels vocals are spot on. Good for them. So stop trying to say thety are Zeppelin rip offs, just intensely influenced. And of course they would be. Hence the name BONHAM!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good hard rock album. Holds up well in 2005., August 3, 2005
This review is from: The Disregard of Timekeeping (Audio CD)
This is an album that I bought back when it was new in 1989 probably for the same reasons that most hard rock fans bought it back then. The legacy of the band's namesake. The drummer here is Jason Bonham, son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. The amusing thing is that the vocalist on this album sounds an awful lot like Robert Plant. Despite that, it doesn't sound like Zeppelin totally. Zep had this "sound" to it that Bonham doesn't. Still, it's hard to listen to this knowing who is in it and not think of the Zep heritage.

That said, the music is good on it's own - "Wait for You" was the big single at the time (and a video for this can still be seen from time to time on VH1 Classic's metal show). Holding on Forever got a lot of attention as well. If you're into Zeppelin, it's worth checking out, but it does sort of have that late 80's hard rock feel to it. That's not bad, I like that sound, but it kind of sounds like what Zeppelin might sound like if they came out new in the late 80's.

Defintely worth checking out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overlooked album of the late 1980s, April 8, 2005

Contrary to most people's opinions of sons-or-daughers-of-famous-musicians, --generally spoiled and abysmally untalened--Jason and the rest of the band exhibit excellent musicianship and songwriting ability.

It's unfortunate that this album is out of print; it's worth buying for side A alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passing of a singer, March 17, 2008

Daniel MacMaster, the singer of this band passed away yesterday. He was too young. I didn't realize how popular he was until today.

4.0 out of 5 stars Battle hymms, January 12, 2012
This review is from: The Disregard of Timekeeping (Audio CD)
Bob Ezrin brings a bit of Floyd to the Zeppelin canvas then glosses it up with a nice shiny sheen just this side of too commercial for a very captivating ride through some expertly timed classic rock moves. Hey man, this album is just so dang playable, it got stuck in my player for quite a good run. Love the drama come chorus time; a kind of haughtiness that only guys with this pedigree can pull off. Ezrin brings a cohesiveness to the record that takes this to the next level; imagine what he could have done with Deep Purple (or even Sabbath...geez) in the mid-late 80s. But like I say, just so friggin' playable.

5.0 out of 5 stars great! even on audio cassette, August 15, 2011
I got this on cassette from Goodwill a few days ago. Man it's great! Pretty timeless in my opinion. If you're into the Led Zeppelin style with an 80s twist, go get it.

This is actually the 2nd dvd of this title that i have purchased. Love this group and had just learned that the singer had died a couple of years ago. Wish the band had time to do more music.

4.0 out of 5 stars a product of the era, but not bad, May 27, 2010

Yes, this is a Led Zeppelin wannabe band. We all know that. No disguising that fact. But, that doesn't mean it's bad. It's actually a great album ... for what it is. Daniel McMaster was a greatly underrated singer that could have done better had he lived and had the chance ... and he's really the highlight of this release. This is a product of it's times.

I did a review of this for a weekly blog I do at [..]

The problem with this band is it's too much Led Zeppelin as became obvious on the follow-up "Mad Hatter" which was a step down as they tried to experiment.

I bought this remastered version to replace my original copy that I have had since it came out. It's a great CD and I have played it many times over. You have to ignore the reviews that bash it because they are trying to compare the music to Led Zeppelin. Of course it sounds like Led Zeppelin. That's where the influence comes from. Is the music as good as Led Zeppelin? Of course not. But it is awesome music from a band that rocked. My big hang up with this new remastered release is the poor packaging. They didn't only screw up the track order but they were sloppy about sticking with all capital letters versus mixed case track titles. The rest of the packaging is about as bland as can be. There are no album credits or liner notes anywhere. Doesn't even list the members of the band anywhere or say who produced it. Looks like I will be keeping my original copy and trading in this new unprofessionally packaged remaster.
