5.0 out of 5 stars Revamp your economic paradigm!, January 8, 2009
This amazing book is a must have for everyone who uses money! We spend all of our lives chasing money, but do we even know what money is? How it is made? Who makes it? The history of money? All these questions and many more are answered within this comically aesthetic and concise rendition of monetary explanation.

It tends to be an emotional ride as well, full of passion, inspiration, anger, depression, and hope. Unlike most other railings against our parasitic system, this one includes innovative designs for new economic systems.

I bought one copy the night it was released (big fan of theuniverseas.com) and read it over thanksgiving break. It was so good, I bought 5 more copies for Christmas and handed them out to friends and family. My Mom is loving it so far, she is amazed by the veil of deception that has burned by the information in this book. I even gave this to the president of a fed chartered local multi-branch bank in my town, I am excited to hear his reaction.

Let monetary enlightenment take hold of the 21st century; any effort can create change, the ripple effect shall pervade the collective.

Thanks so much Alex!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!!, December 2, 2008

Finally the real truth about our US monetary policy. The Federal Reserve is a Centralized Bank controlled by private investers and foreign governments. We are debit based economy manipulated and funded by the Centralized Banking system. We should abolish the Federal Reserve (centralized bank) and go back to Able Lincoln's "Greenback policy"
The US government issues it own money and controls the money supply. Eliminate borrowing from the Federal Reserve, pay off our foreign debit, as a result, lower taxes would be required, increasing individual wealth. It is time we Americans take control of our Money Policy, not foreign powers.!!! The book is an easy read. The comic book format explains the complex US Banking system easily understood by the reader. I bought several copies and pasted out to my friends. It is important our youth get involved in changing our Monetary poicy.

This review is from: Dissolving Dollars: Exposing The Debt-Based Insanity Behind Modern Money (2Nd Edition) (Paperback)
I can highly recommend reading DISSOLVING DOLLARS for anyone trying to make sense of the current (and past) financial problems our USA has, much of which stems from dishonest banking practices. Marchand writes an easy-to-read expose citing examples of how our current system just does not work and gives practical ideas to remedy the situation. The book reads fast (not heavy) and is illustrated throughout. I intend to buy the second edition which is now available, and even extra for gifts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Information Made Easy, March 7, 2009
This review is from: Dissolving Dollars: Exposing The Debt-Based Insanity Behind Modern Money (2Nd Edition) (Paperback)
I was given this book by a friend and I thought it was really cool. Like most people, I certainly never knew about most of this stuff. This book is simple, easy, and after reading it, I feel like I actually understand money and the economy. Like this economic mess we're having isn't a mystery to me anymore. And I also see how nothing that is being done is actually solving it, since the problem is our money itself. Obviously, there are more details a person could learn about money history, money and the economy than are covered in this book. But for the average person, this is everything that is important. I highly recommend this book. Everyone should read it, especially the president.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just ordering this book but spotted an error., February 21, 2009
I am just about to order this book and I skipped through a couple of the "surprise me" Amazon previews. I noticed one thing the author got wrong and many people do as they still have their common sense engaged when trying to understand the deceptive money making system. The author says that "if a Government worker deposits a cheque for $1000 into his account, his bank can loan $900 of it as long as they retain $100, this is fractional reserve banking". Almost correct, in reality it's more insidious. The cheque the worker deposits is viewed as the 10%! The bank creates out of thin air the extra $9000 for loaning out with interest! A small but important difference, a vast profit for the bank and loss of purchasing power from you & me! Our pockets been picked and we don't even spot it. The best book on the subject to date is "Web of Debt" by Ellen Brown, still.
