About the Author
Jeanne M. Novotny, PhD, RN, FAAN, is Dean and Professor at Fairfield University School of Nursing. She received her bachelor's and master of science degrees in nursing from The Ohio State University and her Ph.D. from Kent State University. Her career encompasses more than three decades of leadership in nursing education and administration. Dr. Novotny came to Fairfield University from the University of Virginia in 2001. She has done international work in Mexico, Chile, and Zimbabwe She holds a certificate from the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard University and is an evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Dr. Novotny has clinical expertise in pediatric nursing and nursing leadership and has numerous scholarly publications, presentations, and consultations to her credit.
Robert H. Davis, MSN, RN, is the Director of Admissions at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. he has over ten years of experience in education, beginning with his role as training officer with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department teaching self-defense, pursuit driving, crime prevention, DUI detection, and D.A.R.E. Before his current role at Case, Mr. Davis was the Director of Education for Care Services, Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio, coordinating educational programs for over 1500 nursing and allied health professionals within the organization. Mr. Davis earned both his BSN and MSN in Nursing Informatics from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and serves as their consultant to the Ohio Nursing Students' Association. He is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Intl.
