Simply Profound,
By
This review is from: On Distant Ground (Hardcover)
I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Butler after reading this book. I found him captivating in his manner of speech and thoughtful responses; and this is the quality that comes through in his writing. It is not easy to write simply, but Butler does. On this particular title, I found it metaphorical ala Melville's Moby Dick. I think the reviewer that gave this book one star missed the point badly. The fiction titles by ROB display an incredible imagination that leaves the reader marveling at his depth of creativity. I had the privilege of narrating one such book for the sight impaired for the Library of Congress.

Vientam Bust,
By A Customer
This review is from: On Distant Ground (Paperback)
Although this was a historically accurate novel, it was not very good. It was a completely unfair and biased towards the Vietnam war. It was far to sympathetic to the Viet congs and out right disrespectful to those who faught in the war.
