That's correct, ladies, I'm a Harley rider who sews - the consequence of living alone . . . sigh.Notwithstanding my genius and dexterity, I must admit to creating hems that resemble the country roads on which I like to ride: curvy. Impelled by pride, I recently undertook to discover if some sort of guide was made for my machine (Singer) to assist in straightening out my path. At Amazon, I discovered the blind hem presser foot which seemed to me to serve a useful dual purpose: yes, create a blind hem for esthetic reasons but, more importantly, create a blind hem for the sewing impaired, your humble servant. This item is a "snap-on" foot which, as noted in the product description, many machines accommodate or easily adapt to fit with a screw-on attachment to the presser bar. After creating an S-fold in the material at the hem, the foot is placed on the hem edge where the straight portion of the stitch will be located; the zigzag (blind) stitch is adjusted to just catch the fold. The presser foot has a very easy to adjust guide that is set to follow the fold. I have to proceed rather slowly to ensure that the guide travels along the fold and yields a reasonably straight hem. Nevertheless, in those instances when I daydream myself off track, the spacing of the blind stitch is such that it is not readily noticeable - a good thing since the curtains I am making for a window above my kitchen sink counter shows its hem rather conspicuously. In spite of its modest cost, the presser foot is a hefty piece that appears well made. The guide is plastic but stout enough such that I do not anticipate breakage due to wear-and-tear or modest abuse. In a word, I am quite happy with this gadget. Ed

At ten dollars this Blind Hem Sewing Foot was the best price I could find. Hancock Fabrics sold the same foot for twenty-five dollars and Hobby Lobby, Wal-mart and Target did not sell it at all.
