I had never done free-motion quilting before I bought this. It was super easy to attach to my Brother sewing machine. It took me a little bit of practice to get the hang of it (I did stipple quilting on a baby quilt) but it wasn't that hard. It did make a squeaking noise while I sewed. I'm not sure if it was my machine or the foot. I recommend getting some quilting gloves that help you grip the fabric as you move it. My hands and wrists got sore from gripping the fabric for so long.

This fit perfectly on my Kennmore sewing maching. I love it because it makes quilting and applique so easy. It has a red line on the foot to help guide where it will stitch. Fast shipping, brand new condition.

Don't get me wrong, this is built very well and it is a very nice product, but I had expected something different. I thought the visibility would be better. I do lots of free motion quilting, and while the foot is clear it is really hard to see the project right by the needle. I guess I thought it would be easier.

I wouldn't recommend it for very precise free motion quilting, but again, it is a very well made product.

I was SO excited to get my foot in the mail. It was super easy to attach and use, but the second time I used it, it snapped. The seller, Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew promptly called me and sent a replacement. You just don't find this kind of service anymore, and I really appreciate their kindness. Will be ordering from again.

Like a previous reviewer, I loved the foot once I finally got the courage to try it. It did a wonderful job on a quilt I was working on to raffle off for charity, but about 3/4 of the way through the quilt it developed a crack due to the tension. I didn't notice it right away though, so it messed up a large portion of the quilt until I figured out what was going on. Worst of all, it broke in such a way that the needle was going through the plastic ring, and could have snapped the needle at any time and gotten me into some serious trouble.

I would look elsewhere; while it worked well for about 3 hours it is not sturdy enough for regular quilting.

I only used this foot a tiny amount before it broke due to too much tension on flimsy plastic. It's cheap for a reason ;)

I have a Janome machine, and I did quilt a few small items with this foot, but right in the middle of doing a throw sized quilt - it snapped. I didn't try to return it because I didn't want the same one again. Got a replacement at my local sewing supply store. That one has worked for months now. Can't recommend this foot.

I am doing free motion sewing on my basic Kenmore machine. You can do it without a presser foot, but you don't have a lot of control. This foot does give you control, but visibility is not very good. The loop in the front prohibits you from seeing what is underneath, on your fabric, like a pencil line. I think I am going to take my jewelers saw and cut off the front part of the loop so it is open. Other than not being able to see, it works great, and is easy to get on the machine. I have seen metal ones that are more of a loop shape on You Tube, but don't see them here on Amazon.

I got this foot for my Jenome machine, and I've never changed the entire foot before. The instructions are lacking (something like 'change the foot like you would any other'!), so I went online and found images to help me. But... now that i know how to install it, it works GREAT. Love this foot!

Used the presser foot this weekend to "free motion quilt" for the first time. Foot worked beautifully. This is the first darning foot I have used so I can't compare it to other models but it worked in my Viking sewing machine like a dream :)This is the 2nd Distinctive brand presser foot that I have purchased & I am sure I will be back for more.
