Quilting: I didn't realize when I ordered this, but the foot is angled up in the front ... so near the needle, the foot touches the machine, but in the front, the "toes" angle up. I think this will work really well if you are quilting several layers or anything bumpy, because the toes won't get hung up as easily on the fabric in front of them.

Regular Sewing: I was trying to use it just as a 1/4" guide on two pieces of fabric, and I found that it doesn't hold the fabric as well as a regular foot (probably because the front is lifted like it is).

IMPORTANT: I use this on my Brother CS6000i. One thing to pay close attention to is that the needle hole is center-only. The machine defaults to a left-side needle position. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT LEAVE THIS FOOT ATTACHED AFTER TURNING THE MACHINE OFF --- when you turn it back on, you might forget to change the needle position ... which will end up breaking a needle and probably throwing off the timing and other gears in your machine.

This foot works on all of my low shank machines except the new brother I just received. It's especially good for use on my Singer Featherweight. The marks on the front of the foot tell me exactly how far I am from the corner when attaching binding to my quilts, thus giving me a better mitered corner. The price was much better than a Babylock foot and it doesn't have that annoying piece that sticks down on the right side which always interferes with using pins on going over seams that point toward the needle on the top section. Best of all, it's a thread shy of a full quarter inch. The only thing you have to be careful of is that the machine needle is set so that it goes through the hole. This is NOT a foot for any decorative stitching. I'd recommend this to anyone who does a lot of quilting.

This open toe 1/4" quilting foot is a must have for every quilter. Makes accurate 1/4" seams every time. And that pesky measuring a 1/4" from the corner so you know where to stop when doing a set in seam is a breeze because from the needle to the first line accross the front of the foot is exactly 1/4". It'a quick to snap on and off.

I use this foot on my Kenmore MIni Ultra with the 5mm narrower feed dog array and it fits exactly like it should. This company is excellent to deal with. I had a problem with a foot and got a call about it - I mean a foot is such a small order, but the owner called and we talked for some time. They really want happy customers! I purchased this machine for my LB6800PRW sewing/embroidery machine. It is adversized as fitting this machine, well it does NOT work with this machine. The foot is too narrow to work with the advanced feed dog system of the new Brother machines which allows the fabric to slip and slide all over the place! I purchased this foot because it looks like the foot that I have for my high-end Viking machine and I really wanted it to work for my new Brother travel machine. I better not get charged with return shipping or I will be very upset!
