Clearly influenced by bands like the Runaways and Girlschool, Swedish all-girl quartet Crucified Barbara plays hard edged, no-frills, punk infused rock & roll.

2005's In Distortion We Trust is the band's debut album. It's a fast, heavy, and dirty blast of hard rock with punk aggression. Throw Motorhead and the Ramones in a blender with L7 and Babes in Toyland and you'll have some idea of Crucified Barbara's sound. There are some good melodies here, but overall the album maintains a hard hitting abrasive rock sound. This is not a case of "they rock pretty hard for a bunch of chicks". They rock hard, period.

If you've been missing down n' dirty, pretension-free rock & roll lately, you're going to want to hear this album. You should also look into bands like Bullets and Octane, Fatal Smile (also from Sweden), and Airbourne. They're bringing rock back, big time.

My intro to this band came at The Gaelic Club in Sydney, Australa - a real toilet of a venue. But as soon as they appeared on stange - no make that strode onto the stage - the girls of Crucified Barbara blew all the bad vibes away. So of course I had to get the album!

With plenty of thirsty riffs, a love of rock'n'roll and a serious case of missionary zeal in their playing this is a great album. It lived in my car stereo for weeks and makes regular visits to my stereo due to the following qualities;

- a no frills approach to a committed form of hard rock

- catchy as hell rhythms and an amusin, down to earth lyrical approach

- clean production values

This band - inevitably - drew interest due to their all girl line up but to tell the truth both live and on record it's pretty irrelevant as this is purely and simply a good time rawk rock band though lyrically us blokes do get told off a bit (and probably deservedly so!). A great band and a fun time album and they stand utterly outside the whole female fronted goth metal schtick which is a breath of fresh air.

Straight up rocker , this cd is excellent from start to finish ,the originals are all very good and they do a great cover of the Motorhead classic "killed by death" .

I don't have much to say other than this is a truly exceptional album. With so much garbage out there, it's refreshing to buy a CD that one can actually enjoy listening to again & again. Anyone who doubts girls, and cute ones at that, can play metal needs to hear this.

I actually found out about this band a couple of weeks ago, and I thought to myself that this is the next big thing in hard rock music. As I try to find their album in stores, it turns out that their CD is really complicated to find, some music stores has not even heard about them (although they hail from Sweden). Even though I am a guy, I find it more intriging and interesting of female hard rock and metal bands because there isn't really much of them out there. All the songs have hard edge loud riffs, amazing sick solos, the vocals and lyrics so suducing and dangerous at the same time, not to mention they are attractive as well! If you don't believe what I am saying but still interested in finding out more about them, I suggest that you purchase the album with the DVD included. It's really complicated to find their album in stores so you might as well order it online, but on the DVD it shows their highlights from their past when they were on tour, in the studio, live performances, music videos, it shows how talented they really are. I am fortunate and lucky to myself because of a band that is underrated that nobody hasn't told me about this band, but dicovering them for myself, and that you would never hear on radio, this is a must buy!! I guarantee it!

If you like metalica because they can sing and play, you will love these gals. This is not some light weight chic band, these ladies will move you. Every track is a hit. I like metal that is musical and I really love it when the vocals are actual singing not someone screaming into a mic after they have gargled with razor blands and grain alcohol. Don't just read this listnen to the samples and know this the rest of all the tracks is as good or better than the first 25 tics. I listnen to groups from canned heat and frigid pink to Joe Bonamassa and Rockwolf. Form the doors and Steppenwolf, Cream, Bloodrock, Styx, James Gang and Chickenfoot. This is agreat cd. Hey would I lie, I don't get paid to do this!!

this is one of the best all female heavy metal bands i've invested my money into, every song on this album is an instant classic. their covers of motorhead "killed by death" and kiss "shout it out loud" are better than the originators!

This is a kick-ass rock group! I heard them on the AllGirlRadio station on the internet, and loved them!!! It's good to hear some good old rock, especially from women! Being a huge Joan Jett fan, I really appreciate this group!

they are just incredible in the way they did everything on the album this is one of my fav albums of all time

This band is simply awesome. The vocals are hard without being overbearing and the music demands respect. Each track is just as rockin' as the last, there are no dull moments here.
