I bought this as an ebook (with a grain of salt) as I was bored and just wanted something to read. After reading the blurbs I figured it might be okay but was skeptical...especially about the possibility of it being too hard core with the sensuality for my taste. Lo and behold, I was pleasantly surprised. It was actually pretty good.

The characters were well drawn out, unique, and likable. (Had me laughing out loud) The plot was solid and the fantasy realm was believable ... Sword and sorcerer kind of romantic adventure with a lot of comic relief thrown in to make it interesting - Only in this adventure the fire-breathing dragons are the heros.

There's a mouthy, untrained witch who is kidnapped from her home country, trained as a deadly assassin and forced to do the bidding of a goddess she never worshipped. Her daughter, who she hasn't actually seen in years, is held as ransom against her good behavior. Add the husband who tries to burn her alive, the dragon who rescues her and wants to keep her, his womanizing voyeur dragon brother, the goddess who has some mysterious plot, the dragon god who has a nefarious breeding scheme and requires her skin so he can commit murder, the warrior queen who makes Attila the Hun look like the guy next door and her husband Fearghus the Destroyer (also a dragon), a takeover plot, an aphrodisiac moon, etc., etc. and you have a pretty exciting read. Not too heavy on the intellectual scale but really fun.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the author uses graphic wording in the bedroom scenes that really isn't necessary. For instance she uses the "f" word, calls a man's genitalia a "c...k", and similar such for the female anatomy. It's as if she is being purposely vulgar when the story is actually good enough to stand on its own without all of that.

I'm looking forward to the first story of the warrior queen and her dragon husband. He's this huge mighty dragon but when she found out that he knocked her up.... and the third story of Gwenvael, the dragon womanizer and voyeur who cracked me up when he woke up suddenly screaming "I swear I never touched her!"

THIS IS MY FIRST BOOK BY THIS WRITER, IT WAS AWESOME SO FUNNY AN GREAT LOVE SCENES, I LOVED IT SHE WILL BE ADDED TO MY LIST OF GREAT WRITERS , LIKE LORA LEIGH,JAID BLACK, SHERRLYN KENYON, CHRISTINE FEEHAN, KAREN MARIE MONING, THE ONLY THING THAT SUCKS IS THIS WAS PART 2 OF DRAGON KIN STORIES AN PART ONE IS NOT IN PRINT YET, I HOPE SHE CONTINUES WITH ALL OF THE DRAGONS FINDING MATES, I WILL BY EVERYTHING SHE WRITES, GREAT STORY, HAVEN'T BEEN THIS EXCITED ABOUT A SERIES OF BOOKS IN FOREVER.

Shelly Laurenston is reprinting this series under the name "G.A. Aiken". The first book will be retitled Dragon Actually (release date Sept. 2008), and the second book, which should be this one, will be About a Dragon (release date Dec. 2008).

Move over Mary Janice Davidson, there's a new queen of comedy in town.
Talaith's life has pretty much sucked up till now. She's basically living in servitude to a goddess with a husband who hates her. Whatever, she's less than fond of him to. But there's that old adage that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger so she's going to handle things with grace never realizing that the kill you part might be closer than she thought. Dragged from her bed one morning she finds her faithless husband and spineless fellow villagers preparing to burn her at the stake for being a witch. Just perfect. Then she's rescued by a silver dragon, also known as Briec the Almighty, who promptly decides to keep her. Briec is somewhat perplexed. The woman should be throwing herself at her feet in gratitude but all he gets it moaning and negativity. What's a dragon to do? Drug her with sex until she can't think straight and the only word leaving her mouth is yes? Shame that doesn't work. Talaith leads Briec on a merry chase full of sass and sizzle, and you'll be left wanting more from this fun mismatched couple.

Start with Briec a "mighty" silver dragon dealing with FEELINGS (oh my gosh)....and a desire to find out what all the fuss is about with HUMAN females...

A mouthy, petite witch who's had her infant daughter stolen from her only to find herself dropped literally in a tiny village to be trained as an assassin...and ignored for the next 16 years.

Add....

Dragon brothers, Eibhear and Gwenvael...blue and gold dragons respectively....

and you get an adorable story laden with "accidental" blows by dragon brothers..as well as a deftly developed love story between Briec the Mighty Silver dragon and his witch Talaith. Poor Briec makes soooo many courtship errors, it's amazing he EVER gets it right. (But hey, he has violet eyes...it's a done deal!!)


I re-read this story at least once a year just to laugh...and I hope someday Shelly and her publisher get around to re-printing the FIRST Dragon Kin book then get on with Eibhear's story...you can't leave Eibhear running from Izzy forever!!!!!

Worth the money in either print or ebook, but I strongly recommend print so you can re-read it over and over. And you will.

I was surprised at how very good this book was, I loved it! My only complaint is the book cover could have been better.

I really enjoyed this book. It's witty, funny, fast paced with a typical yet nice plot. The binding and cover are also in good quality and the price reasonable enough.

I enjoyed this book so much I've read it twice! You can't but love these charaters, all the while your laughing out loud!!! I can'i get enough of these stories!!!

This is the funniest,sexiest,most entertaining book I have ever read! I am holding onto a copy to read when I need a good laugh.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well fleshed out and the story was engrossing. I didn't stop reading until I finished. Yeah I do that. Great read, fantasy but with a nice story that left me wanting to read it again.
