5.0 out of 5 stars Branduardi's a singer, but most of all he's a magician, March 11, 1999

This review is from: Il Dito E La Luna (Audio CD)
Angelos music can not be called quiet, not contemplative, not powerful, not complex and not sacred: IT IS ALL OF IT IN AN AWSOME MIXTURE! There is so much wisdom in his texts and so much joy! And there is so much power to his playing the violin accompanied by flutes and the whole range of modern instruments! In his music he connects the medieval with the industrial age and if you are looking for a true gem in your collection of Italian cantanti, you have found it. This CD is as superb as Camminando, Domenica e Lunedi and Futuroantico. He sings of everyday things but when you listen to the CD the second time you will understand what his poems are about: it's live and the meaning is profound and you will drawn and you will like it! And when all kinds of music will be out of fashion, this CD will still be loved by your grand-children and theirs. Angelo Branduardi is the best that Italian culture has to offer right now and still he is kind of a secret. When you speak Italian or learn it you will enjoy "chanting Branduardi" for yourself...
