Product Description
2008 Love Is Murder Award Recipient for "Best Paranormal Mystery"

On the night of her final performance, Opera Diva Carmen Dellamorte, famous for her passion of Tarot cards, staggers onto the Chicago Lyric Opera House stage and dies. Is it the curse of Macbeth or a malevolent plot to dethrone the queen?

Alexandria Vilkas, Chicago reporter, does more than write about the supernatural. She peeks behind the veil of death to investigate murders of the paranormal, and solving the mysterious death of a Diva is the first step on her journey.

Around the world, enthusiasts and masters of the Tarot look to these popular cards for guidance and divination. The deck begins with The Fool, representing the Uninitiated Person beginning a journey consisting of twenty-two phases, each coinciding with the archetypical characters and themes of the Major Arcana, otherwise known as the Greater Secrets.

4.0 out of 5 stars A LOCAL TREASURE, September 15, 2007
This book is a must read for all those of us of Lithuanian decent. The references to local ethnic flavor, and local Chicago scenes is fasinating! Silvia expanded her main character of Alexandra Vilkas from her first book, "Skullduggery", and made her all the more likable. Silvia gives the reader an understanding of Taro cards and the opera, in this mystery novel. I truly enjoyed the read and will anxiously await her next book! Vida B. Musielak

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read, September 4, 2007
For anyone that enjoys a good metaphysical mystery, this is the book to read.

As a person that loves a good tale, I thoroughly enjoyed both the plot and the characters. Each chapter flowed so masterfully into the next that I found myself unable to put the book down until I had read the final page.

As a metaphysician that has a great love and reverence for the Tarot I was impressed with the respect that the cards were given. I was also pleased with how Silvia portrayed some of the multi uses of the Tarot rather than just as a divinatory tool (which is in fact one of its lesser applications).

I believe that everyone can enjoy this book (from the person that has no knowledge of the metaphysical to the person who is adroit at it). I applaud Silvia for writing a book that both explains bits of the metaphysical while engaging one in a suspenseful mystery. I look forward to any books she writes in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Read!, June 5, 2008
I enjoyed this metaphysical mystery. I am not much of a mystery fan but when I read the book, I couldn't put it down. The local color was also interesting and added so much to the story. I look forward to this author's next book!
