This review is from: Diverse Worship: African-American, Caribbean and Hispanic Perspectives (Paperback)
As the pastor of a multi-ethnic church this book was a very refreshing read because it informs the reader that the mainstream American evangelical way to worship God is not the only way to worship Him and not only is that acceptable, God is not offended! This book is not saying that African-American, Carribean and Hispanic churches have a better way to worship God. The author is simply presenting insights into some of the ways these three ethnic groups have incorporated their unique cultures into their worship of God and that other cultures may wish to consider doing the same and perhaps even borrow from our African-American, Carribean and Hispanic brothers and sisters. If God is delighted in the worship of His people from different tongues, lands and their cultures, are we right in assuming our way is the only way to worship Him?
