Consider the timeline in history and the purpose of this 'film' . . . it's definitely worth watching. The intent is to remind the people of the United States why WWII is being fought. The video offers interesting footage from WWI as well as explanations. Realize the complex nature of the post-depression mindset and understand the important contributions of the United States in 'another European war.' Well narrated and presented with some unusual original film footage clips. This is simply stated and easily understood. The information is reasonably accurate. Recommended for those with an interest in military history. A place to begin and still of interest to students of WWII. Good overview of the timeline and the prevailing psychology.

Of note is the original footage of the German invasion of the 'North Countries' and the subsequent invasion of France via the Ardennes Forest. The use of civilian refugees as a 'tool of war,' the evacuation at Dunkirk, and propaganda intended for the French military is addressed.

Not "old newsreels" and "hokey" as one reviewer thinks. This is Frank Capra, an extremely talented director, and he volunteered to help his country and was deadly serious about his subject. Technically and structurally, it stands up to careful attention. Particularly interesting is how he incorporates footage by the brilliant, twisted, Nazi propaganda film director Leni Riefenstahl ("Triumph of the Will").

This program, devotes it's contents to the the fall of Poland and France. How the British Navy was part of the survival along with the Air Force. Hitler started by using propaganda when that did not work he used his Army and Air Force. If you want a clear understanding of the war situation from September for about 6 months, then you need to watch this program. Recommended viewing, for those who are interested in the Second World War.
