I was a little apprehensive about the new album at first due to a track by track review I read on The Quietus but after I listened to this song I realized that any review that compares a Mastodon album to system of a down five times is foolish. The biggest thing that stood out about this song to me was the vocals. Mastodon seems to be able to reinvent the way screaming and singing(with a combination of both) are done time and time again with a masterful outcome subsequently better than the last. The other thing that stood out was the banjo intro, to me it was a reminder of Soundgarden and that in itself is awesome. So in conclusion this song is awesome in every aspect and is well worth spending a dollar on even if your not a Mastodon fan because trust me you soon will be.

This review is from: Divinations (Vinyl Picture Disc) (Vinyl)
This 12" picture disc has beautiful artwork on it and the music is even better, having the album version and instrumental version of Divinations. This is a essential collection item for any fan of Mastodons unique artistic metal music.

This review is from: Divinations (Vinyl Picture Disc) (Vinyl)
Let's be honest, picture discs mainly fall into the realm of visual collectible memorabilia, since the sound quality is usually not as good as regular vinyl.
With that in mind, the Side A artwork is killer and nicely complements the full album CD and/or vinyl releases. Side B art is nothing to write home about, but you do get the instrumental version of Divinations, which reveals some additional nuances, along with the awesome surf guitar solo.
This is a major label vinyl release, meaning it costs more $$$ than it should.
