This is a great book on transition in the Church.,
By
This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
Graham Cooke brings us a wonderful book on the changes that the Church is currently walking through, and calls us to embrace God's transitions with integrety. The book will give the reader many insightful gleanings from the revelation of the Church that has been given to Cooke. This book is not a line upon line teaching, but more of a walk through the park with a wise mentor who is doling out the heart of God. I highly recommend this book to those in any leadership role in the Church today.

A Revolutionary Model for Church Leaders,
By James O. Murphy (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews

Cooke has given the church a powerful tool for change. Realistically speaking, today's church is not radically changing the lives of its people. Cooke has discovered and patterned the key to life-changing Christianity as portrayed in the early church. This is a book that every Christian leader should read - and put to practice!

This can change your entire view on where you've been and where God wants to take you. Promise. I saw the Tommy Tenney name (did the foreword) and wondered how many fresh things can one man be involved in? Well, he's in a river for sure. Great book for frustrated leadership (a must actually). If you're in a 'satisfied' church, this may not be for you. If you're aching to grow in intimacy with God and relationships, if you are tired of Sunday only church and relationships, if you've been hurt by the church, this book will help open your eyes and uncover your idols (with God's direction of course). Some truly fresh, amazing rhema from heaven. Gets a little bogged down in the middle but don't give up--just press through it.

A divine confrontation that benefits the church,
This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
Graham Cooke has the mind of a master builder. In his book, he delves into thorny and controversial issues revolving around church transition. There are excellent teachings on how to untie dead knots that prevents the church from moving forth by harnessing practical and proven strategies.Through a wide lens, we can see that God is not stale in his choice, but is still very much proactive and creative in the ways he is dealing and shaping his corporate church. The church must also learn to retain her elasticity if she wants to prevail under the spiritual influence of God's next move. As pointed out this is most crucial in transition period. Relationship and accountability are the most crucial areas leaders must take into account. How far we can venture in our spiritual odyssey will largely depend on this un-dividing combination factors. This is also a major highlight in this book. I see Graham is like an artisan photographer who is skillful in zooming in his lens in and out to view the big picture of today's church from all angle. Therefore much of the contents of this book can give us an insight of the church at microscopic and macroscopic level.

This particular book helped explain so many things that have gone on and are going on in my life. What excitement you can have when you understand the processes of transition and the symptoms! It really allowed me to comprehend moments of confusion and frustration in a positive light. Unbelieveably helpful. Four other friends got the book at the same time and it is a blast to understand what each other is talking about when we discuss the book...

Not for the religious or stagnant,
By RLG (Hammond, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
I could not believe this was written in 1999. Graham is truly a prophet for this season. This work is easy to read and deals with a lot of the churchy junk that has hindered the church in past and today. The confusion one would get is to try to read a work that is written from freedom when the mind is instilled with tradition and religious strongholds. The chapters on transition and character were excellent. I must say Graham has taken his experience and unfolded it apostolically and prophetically to a generation that is tired of being entertained, consoled, compromised, hoodwinked, conned and kept from the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for a message that is refreshing, intriging, mind changing and illuminating.

This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
A masterful work that intriguingly intertwines both the mystical and pragmatic aspects of church life. I have read the book through, and then re-read (and often re-re-read) many chapters and sections. You won't be disappointed. Click that "Add to Shopping Cart" button now.

This is a must read for pastors and church leaders who truly have a heart for God and not for their own agendas. Even though it is not a really new book, it is still very on target for what really is needed to combat the enemy in our midst.

Pat's review,

This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
This book, A Divine Confrontation should be read by every minister of the 5 fold ministry and every Christian. Graham Cooke has the gift of wisdom from God, as he addresses many of the issues the Body of Christ is facing in this age. This is one book that I will not pass on, but buy for my friends, as this is one book I will use as a reference for many years to come. Such insight! Such understanding of the Kingdom of God and where the Body of Christ needs to be corporately and individually! You will not be disappointed, and if you read it slowly with an open heart, God will show you much about His Bride, and about yourself!Pat Gibson, Worship minister, Laurinburg, NC

Graham is the real Deal,
This review is from: A Divine Confrontation (Paperback)
Graham Cooke is a real man of God. He has ups and downs. He has issues just like the rest of us. But he is a prophet. He hears from God and he helps others hear from God.
No matter what format he used for his communication it would be worthwhile for you to read or listen and follow. I have met Graham and he is a great guy and a tremendous man of God. |
