Due to forces beyond her control, Fallon finds herself in a hastily arranged marriage to Trader, a man whose face is a complete mystery to Fallon due to the dark hood he is never without. Although he's made it clear that their marriage will be one in name only, Fallon can't help but want more from the man who saved her from her cruel uncle and has brought her to a home filled with every conceivable luxury. When he rescues her from an attacker and kisses her fears away, Fallon is determined to reveal the man beneath the hood, and to prove her love to him.

I was hooked from the beginning. I can't resist a hoooded/masked hero, and neither could Fallon. This was a brief read, and the ending was perfect, even though it leaves you wanting more. Fallon is very young (18 years old for most of the story), and she behaves childish at times. Trader, however, is the strong, silent, somewhat brooding hero whose behavior is beyond reproach. There are moments of great passion between the two, but there are no sex scenes. It's a very sweet, tender love story...one I'll read again and again!

Falon Ashby was sent to live with her uncle Charles when her mother became to sick to look out for her. Her uncle was a drinker and abuser and Falon found herself in a terrible situation. Trader Donovan owns the land that Charles' house sits on. When Trader comes to collect the rent and Charles can't pay he threatens to evict him. When a storm arises Falon allows Trader to sleep before the fire. But when her uncle walks in and sees Falon and Trader in each others arms he demands Trader marry Falon. Trader does marry her but makes it clear that it's a marriage in name only. And though that seems to be working for Trader, Falon finds herself falling in love with this hooded tower of strength. Will Trader find the courage to unveil himself before Falon? Will Falon have the love and patiences to show Trader that she'll love him no matter what?

This was sort of a Beauty and The Beast type tale. It did keep me interested the whole way through. I like the unusual names this author always chooses for her stories and Trader and Falon was no exception. I have to admit that it isn't my favorite Marcia Lynn McClure book but I still really liked it. It had suspense, romance, bad guys and a great hero who, of course, is shirtless at some point in the story. If you like this author's work then you will want to pick this one up as well!

If you are going to read Marcia McClure for the first time, three of her works are ABSOLUTELY incredible. I would recommend The Crimson Frost, Saphyre Snow, and The Highwayman of Tanglewood. I will not be recommending this book to anyone I know.

There are too many unbelievable facets to the story, one being that the hero's hood could keep him concealed as much as it did during the story (that it would stay in place during all the action too!). Two, the ending is just really unsatisfactory (I won't spoil it, but just say that Marcia McClure has written some extremely beautiful, touching endings and I wish this was one of them). Three, the heroine bounces back and forth between weak, whiny and inexperienced to a stubborn chit who throws shoving tantrums when angry. A bad cross between Fanny Price and Scarlet O'Hara.

I wanted to love it. There were parts I am sure I enjoyed, like the kisses. She can melt something unmelt-able with her kiss scenes. But there were more parts that I didn't enjoy, unfortunately.

The cover art is beautiful but doesn't represent what you really see of him during the story. Again, if you are new to this author, definitely start with one of the above three books.

I really enjoyed this book. Its not what I usually read and I'm very glad I did. Its a clean romance, not too much heat which I normally read. Who can resist a hot wounded hero.? Not me lol. I devoured the book in no time. I wish it was longer. Just read it! There, a short n sweet review!

Like the other reviewers, I do agree this story is much like a beauty and the beast type story. I still really enjoyed it. The reason this book didn't get a perfect score from me is because the love was there but the characters lacked passion. It kind of got a little tiring when all they did was share quick kisses that "melted her knees" each time. The author describes Fallon's side of the relationship more so than Trader. I know Trader was suppose to be mysterious with a big question mark on him but I would have enjoyed his perspectives too. Also, I would have liked it if the author developed the beginning a little more. I would have enjoyed reading about Trader's previous visits before he saved her from her miserable life with her uncle. Perhaps Fallon's first encounter with Trader? I enjoyed the book but finished wishing I was more satisfied because I wanted more! :)

The story was a very good one a bit different from others I've read. I loved most of the characters and thought others (her mother for one) weren't necessary to make the story successful. I would highly recommend it, I was glad to have downloaded it for free but I would have easily paid around $4 and felt good about it. There was no vulgar language, no intimacy really, some violence and steers were vendictivly butchered by the villians so if your an animal lover beware, I skipped over that part. I will be looking out for other books by this author. Happy reading and enjoy.
