CFBI Agent and Pyro-Psychic Jasi McLellan battles a serious infection that threatens to claim her life. Slipping in and out of consciousness, she remembers the Parliament Murders...

One by one, members of Ontario's Parliament are disappearing, only to be found days later, disoriented and drugged. Or worse―dead. Police are stumped and the CFBI brings in a covert PSI team, agents with special psychic abilities.

Accompanied by Psychometric Empath Ben Roberts and new team member Victim Empath Natassia Prushenko, Jasi heads for Ottawa and uncovers a plot so devious that Canada's national security is at risk. If that isn't enough to deal with, Jasi bumps into old flame, Zane Underhill, who wants to rekindle their relationship that ended three years earlier.

But the investigation takes precedent and Jasi is forced to place her feelings for Zane on hold in order to find a killer who has more than justice in mind for his victims, and in the end she makes a gut-wrenching decision―one that will cost the life of someone close to her.

Editorial Reviews:

"Divine Justice is a powerfully-written chill ride that will give you nightmares. Best to keep the lights on with this one." ―Rick Mofina, bestselling author of In Desperation

"This fast-paced thriller should be a runaway best-seller. Divine Justice reminds me of CSI or Medium. If you like J.D. Robb's In Death series, you'll love Cheryl Kaye Tardif's Divine series." ―Midwest Book Review, Betty Dravis, co-author of Dream Reachers series

"One of those 'sitting on the edge of your seats' read as the team unravels the mystery and tries to solve the case. It is a unique blend of action, mystery...This book is highly recommended." ―Margaret Orford, Allbooks Review

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read for the paranormal reader August 22, 2012
By Crystal
Format:Paperback
Sequel, but in reality a prequel, to the her previous book Divine Intervention we see the return of PSI Agent Jasmine MacLellan chasing a serial killer targeting Members of Parliament. However, the majority of the story is told while Jasi is in a coma and replays the case that brought her team together months before. An interesting twist I must say, one that worked out brilliantly. Most authors who write prequel novels aren't very successful, usually I find because the characters are too developed when they start the series to go backwards. Perhaps because this is only Ms. Tardif's second book in the series it made it easier to de-flesh (sounds way more grotesque than I meant) the characters.

However she meant the story to unfold I was pleasantly creeped out and interested by the story. As a somewhat spoiler to the tale we have a Canadian MP murdered in the most horrific manner: beaten, set on fire and drowned. Then another ends up the same way and there are no clues that link the two and no clues on how it was accomplished with the apparent cooperation of the victims. I liked this twist. I'll be honest though, I got it right away when I saw the link between the two but it didn't spoil the rest of the story and how they came to the conclusions. Also when the first inkling of a suspect cropped up the twist to eliminate wasn't strong enough and I had my doubts, but there was enough doubt to make it almost surprising. I do wonder though if the bad guy survived and if we'll see him again? I think this would be most interesting since we don't know how many "pupa" (you'll need to read the book to understand) are still out there and the control he may have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read!! January 5, 2013

Set in Canada in the Canadian FBI. A fantastically gripping story about female Agent McKellan, and her work as a paranormal investigator. I could not put this book down, so much intrigue and excitement it really kept me on the edge of my seat and when it was over I only wanted more. There are two "Divine" novels by Ms Tardif. I highly recomend both of them, I garantee you will not be disappointed by ANY of Ms Tardif's books!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychic written how they should be! January 13, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love psychic suspense books. This is one of the best I've read in a long time. This author knows how to write a psychic gifts with the realistic problems that accompany them. I accidentally read the 2nd book first, but will definitely be reading the first and keep an eye out for this author's work. Thank you Cheryl for a great book!

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm glad I got it for free July 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
First of all, I must say that I got this book for free from BookRooster.com.

The main part of this story takes place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where a prominent politician has been found murdered, and another comes up missing. Three members of the CFBI's PSI department -- agents with psychic abilities -- are on the case.

This murder case, dubbed "The Parliament Murders," is bracketed by the story of one of the agents being in a coma in the hospital some time after the main events of the book. The story of the Parliament Murders is being told through her dreaming/reliving during her coma. (There is no way of knowing how her subconscious could know things that happened when she wasn't present. Just one of many plot weaknesses.)

About a quarter of the way through the book I thought "This sounds like The Manchurian Candidate. I bet these guys are being brainwashed." Around the half-way mark I figured out who the bad guy was. I was really hoping I was wrong, but, no. I was absolutely correct. Disappointing.

I didn't buy the "story within a story" construct in this book. The coma and events immediately after the main character wakes up seemed completely superfluous. The main story could have easily, and less confusingly, been told on its own. As this was the second book in a series, perhaps the first book sets up this premise in a more believable way.

This book also suffered from simplistic, obvious, and repetitive dialogue. "We have to keep looking for connections between [the victims]." They were closing in on the link between the two men. They just had to figure it out before the second was killed. Yes, yes, we got that already, we understand. Write better dialogue or stop talking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Divine Justice July 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Using detectives with paranormal abilities as the protagonists of the story was an interesting twist. However, the flow of the story was awkwardly constructed. Some sections seemed so poorly connected to the previous section that I had to check if I had missed some pages. The initial hospital scene should have been better integrated with the rest of the story. One seemingly important relationship was given no context. I read the book through to the end but my time would have been better served on something else. (I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it March 17, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is actually number two but goes backwards. Expertly done too. It's a paranormal type book but doesn't over run the story. Plenty of good old fashion suspense. Make sure you read the first one, Divine Intervention first and it will make much more sense. It is a great story on its own. There are so many directions this series can take off to and I'm excited to see where. You won't be disappointed.
