This was written & drawin by an iconic comic-book artist! The story is amazing, and the art is jaw-dropping! My only COMPLAIN is "WHY HASNT JIM LEE RE-RELEASED THIS IN HARDBACK FORMAT!!?" LIKE HOW TODD MCFARLANE IS RE-RELEASING THE SPAWN SERIES IN BEAUTIFUL HARDBACK FORMAT & EVEN RE-DID THE COLORS TO EACH ISSUE* I WOULD LOVE TO SEE JIM LEE DO THE SAME!! N' I THINK I SPEAK FOR ANYONE WHOM LOVED THIS SERIES, THAT THE COVER OF VOLUME 2 DEFF NEEDS TO BE THE COVER OF THE COMPENDIUM VOLUME!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done, May 5, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Divine Right: The Adventures of Max Faraday - BookOne (Paperback)
Jim Lee weaves a complex but fascinating tale. A college student, his sister and his roommate unwittingly become involved in an epic tale of good vs. evil, where they become the key players. You watch as each attempts to handle the sudden transition from their mundane life into one fraught with demons, assassins, superheros, secret government projects, mystical realms, etc.

Clearly, the book could have been twice the length, as it leaps from place to place, and longs for more pages. It's not hard to keep up, but you do need to catch your breath every now and then.

This may be a decade old, now, but unless you looked first, you'd never know. The quality of the work and the whole package are contemporary.

Not surprisingly, the artwork is stunning, and I recommend this as a fun, if not frantic, ride.
